Lily skipped up the front steps and rang the doorbell. The door swung open and Grandma smiled wide. "Come in, sweetie!" she said with a hug. Grandpa peeked around the corner. "I've got a surprise for you today," he said with a wink. Lily's eyes sparkled with excitement. "What is it?" she asked. "You'll see soon enough," Grandpa replied. Lily could hardly wait to find out what adventure awaited her.

Grandpa led Lily up the creaky stairs to the attic. Dust danced in the sunlight streaming through the window. "Look what I found," Grandpa said, pulling out an old wooden chest. Inside were colorful costumes and hats from long ago. "These were from when Grandma and I were actors," he explained. Lily gasped with delight. "Can I try them on?" she asked eagerly. "Of course!" Grandma said, appearing at the doorway. "Let's put on a show!"

After the dress-up fun, delicious smells filled the kitchen. Grandma tied an apron around Lily. "Today, you'll learn my secret cookie recipe," Grandma said. Lily carefully measured flour and sugar into the big bowl. "Now add a sprinkle of love," Grandma whispered. Lily giggled and stirred the dough. Grandpa snuck a chocolate chip and winked. Soon, warm cookies covered the counter. "These are the best cookies ever!" Lily exclaimed, taking a big bite.

As the sun set, they sat together on the porch swing. Grandpa pointed at the orange sky. "When I was young, I sailed across the ocean," he began. Lily snuggled closer as he told tales of distant lands. Grandma shared stories about when Lily's mom was little. "She was just like you," Grandma said softly. Lily yawned happily. "Can I come back next week?" she asked. "Always," they said together, kissing her forehead. It had been the perfect day.
