In a distant wonderland, behind the mountains and across the seas, the good fairies gathered near the cradle of a little princess. The fairies were filled with joy as they looked at the sleeping child. Their queen, wise and gentle, spoke to them. "Let each of you give her a precious gift, according to your ability and desire!" she said. The fairies nodded, eager to bestow their magical gifts upon the princess.

The first fairy stepped forward, her heart full of love. "I give you the charm of beauty," she said softly, "so that anyone who sees your face will think they have seen a wonderful spring flower." The second fairy smiled and added, "I will give you eyes as clear and deep as water." The third fairy twirled gracefully and said, "I will grant you the flowing and slender figure of a young palm tree." Each fairy was proud of the gift they bestowed, believing it would bring happiness.

The Queen watched as her fairies gave their gifts. She then spoke, her voice gentle but firm. "The beauty of people and flowers fades," she began. "Charming eyes can darken with tears, and the wind can break even the slenderest palm tree. Gold, if not shared, can bring hatred, and if shared, it can leave the chest empty." The fairies listened, realizing the truth in her words.

"What is permanent in man, and what will you give her, our queen?" asked the fairies. The Queen smiled warmly. "I will give her kindness," she said. "Kindness never fades, and it brings joy to both the giver and the receiver." The fairies nodded, understanding that kindness was the greatest gift of all, and they knew the princess would grow up to be loved by all.
