Outdoor afternoon under a spreading tree, Emma sits cross-legged reading a small prayer book, rosa kneels nearby clapping joyfully, and Gabby hugs her stuffed bear, dappled sunlight filtering through leaves onto the grass.
Lin sat under the big tree with her friends. Emma read from her prayer book. "God made you special," she said with a smile. Rosa clapped her hands. "He made me too?" she asked. "Yes, you too!" Lin said. Gabby hugged her bear tight. All four girls felt warm and happy inside.
Indoor mid-afternoon at a small snack table, Emma smiles reassuringly while pointing to rosa and Gabby, half-eaten crackers and juice boxes scattered between them, warm window light illuminating their joined hands.
"Does God really know my name?" Rosa asked during snack time. Emma nodded. "He knows Lin, Rosa, Gabby, and Emma!" she said. Lin giggled. "He knows everyone!" Gabby whispered, "Even me?" Her friends hugged her. "Especially you, Gabby," said Emma softly. They held hands and smiled together.
Sunny afternoon in the park playground, rosa soars high on a swing with wind in her hair as lin pushes the neighboring swing, bright blue sky and metal swing set framing their joyous moment.
The sun was bright and warm. Lin and her friends played in the park. They swung high on the swings. "This is a happy day!" shouted Rosa. Emma twirled around. "God loves us on happy days," she said. Gabby laughed and ran in circles. They all felt God's love shining down.
Outdoors beneath warm afternoon light, rosa sits on the grass with a scraped knee, lin strokes her shoulder while Emma gently secures a bright bandage, small blades of grass brushing their knees.
Rosa fell and scraped her knee. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Lin sat beside her. "It's okay to cry," Lin said gently. Emma brought a bandage. Gabby patted Rosa's hand. "God loves you on hard days too," Emma reminded her. Rosa smiled a little. Her friends made everything better.
Morning sunlight streams across the kitchen breakfast table; lin bows her head in thanks, Emma demonstrates folded hands beside her, while rosa watches eagerly over her breakfast plate.
Lin woke up early one morning. She remembered what Emma taught her. "Thank you, God, for this new day," she whispered. At breakfast, she told Rosa about her prayer. "I want to pray too!" Rosa said. Emma showed them how to fold their hands. Gabby watched and copied them.
At a small round table lit by midday sun through the window, Emma places a plate of fresh cookies while lin passes one to Gabby, warm crumbs scattered across the wooden surface.
Emma brought cookies to share. "God gives us good things," she said. Lin gave one to Rosa. Rosa gave one to Gabby. Gabby smiled her biggest smile. "We can share God's love too!" said Lin. They all agreed. Sharing made them happy. Kindness felt warm like sunshine.
Under warm lamplight, lin, rosa, and Emma sit cross-legged in a tight circle on the floor, eyes closed and hands linked in silent prayer.
"Can we pray for each other?" asked Rosa. Emma thought that was wonderful. They sat in a circle. Lin prayed for Gabby. Emma prayed for Rosa. Rosa prayed for Lin. Gabby squeezed everyone's hands. "God bless my friends," she whispered. They felt closer than ever before.
Inside a shadowy room near sunset, Gabby sits with eyes closed in prayer as Emma kneels beside her, gentle lamplight illuminating their clasped hands and chasing away the darkness around them.
Gabby was very quiet one day. "What's wrong?" Lin asked softly. "I'm scared of the dark," Gabby said. Emma hugged her. "You can talk to God about it," she said. Gabby closed her eyes. "Please help me be brave," she prayed. Her friends smiled. God was listening.
Bright midday in a blooming garden, lin lifts a yellow flower toward the sky while rosa and Emma kneel nearby gathering colorful blossoms, sunlight sparkling across petals and green leaves.
The girls picked flowers in the garden. "Look how pretty!" said Rosa. Lin held up a yellow one. "Thank you, God, for flowers," she said. Emma added, "And for friends!" Gabby said, "And for sunshine!" Rosa said, "And for love!" They thanked God for everything good.
Sunny afternoon at the playground slide, lin offers her hand to a new girl looking sad while Gabby extends her toy toward her, colorful play structures and wood chips filling the background.
A new girl looked sad at the playground. Lin walked over. "Want to play with us?" she asked. Rosa and Emma waved hello. Gabby offered her toy. The girl smiled. "Thank you," she said. "God wants us to be kind," Emma explained. Everyone felt happy helping someone new.
Outdoor twilight beneath a starry sky, lin and Emma kneel on the grass saying the bedtime prayer while rosa listens beside them, soft starlight illuminating their calm faces.
Evening came and stars appeared. Lin's mom taught her a bedtime prayer. The next day, she shared it. "Now I lay me down to sleep," Emma started. The girls repeated the words together. "God watch over us tonight," Rosa added. Gabby yawned. They felt safe and loved.
In a quiet clearing bathed in golden late-afternoon light, lin, Emma, and Gabby sit close on the grass holding hands in a small circle, peaceful smiles reflecting the lasting warmth of their friendship.
The four friends sat together one last time. "God loves us forever," Emma said, reading from her book. Lin smiled. "On happy days," she said. Rosa added, "And hard days!" Gabby whispered, "Forever and always." They held hands. God's love surrounded them like a warm blanket. They would never forget.
