On a sunlit seaside rock at morning, Ariel the mermaid princess sits upright with a warm smile, tail trailing in the surf while colorful fish swirl below the clear water.
Ariel was born a little mermaid princess under the sparkling sea. She loved to swim with colorful fish. Her favorite spot was a sunny rock near the shore. Sometimes, she sang songs to the waves. One sunny morning, she saw someone new nearby. She wondered who it could be.
Near the sunny shore, John Jr stands in a small wooden boat clutching a tiny fishing rod, giggling and waving as Ariel, smiling shyly on her rock, lifts a hand in return amid shimmering ripples.
John Jr, a cheerful baby boy, was fishing with his family. He saw Ariel sitting on a rock, singing softly. John Jr waved and giggled happily. Ariel waved back, smiling shyly. “Your singing is pretty!” John Jr gurgled. They became instant friends.
Outside a sunny village marketplace, Ariel—now with human legs—stands nervously beside John Jr; he stretches up to touch her bright red hair, smiling encouragingly, while a few curious kids whisper near colorful stalls.
As Ariel grew older, her mermaid fin changed into legs. She was excited to visit the land with John Jr. Her long red hair always shone bright in the sun. Sometimes kids stared at her different hair. Ariel felt shy but remembered John Jr's kind words. “Your hair is beautiful!” he said.
Inside a brightly lit candy shop, Ariel clutches a paper bag while two sneering kids point at her red hair near glass jars; John Jr frowns, wrapping his small arms around her waist in a comforting hug among rainbow sweets.
Ariel went to buy candy, but some kids teased her red hair. She felt sad and wanted to leave. John Jr noticed and frowned. “That’s not nice!” he said loudly. He gave Ariel a big hug. “Let’s show everyone how kind we can be!”
At a kitchen table bathed in afternoon sunlight, Ariel and John Jr paint a large poster reading "No more hair discrimination!"; bright markers, spilled glitter, and cardboard sheets scatter around them as they grin at their progress.
John Jr had an idea for Ariel. “Let’s invite people to a rally!” he cried. They made colorful signs together. “No more hair discrimination!” their sign read. Soon, friends joined them, holding banners high. Ariel was proud and smiled brightly.
In the bustling town square under midday sun, Ariel and John Jr hold a colorful banner amid cheering crowds while the governor, sleeves rolled, leans forward listening seriously as confetti and waving posters fill the bright air.
Lots of people came to their rally, cheering loudly. Even grown-ups joined to support Ariel and John Jr. The governor heard the joyful shouts. He walked over and listened carefully. “Everyone deserves kindness,” he said. The crowd agreed with happy applause.
On the town-square stage during a clear morning, John Jr practices snipping a giant red ribbon with ceremonial scissors, tongue peeking in concentration; nearby, Ariel ties clusters of multicolored balloons to the railing, smiling proudly at the preparations.
The governor made a special law called The Johny Act. It promised fairness to everyone, no matter their hair color. A big ceremony was planned in the town square. John Jr practiced cutting a big red ribbon. Ariel helped decorate with balloons. “We did it together!” she said.
Under blazing midday sun on the decorated town-square stage, Ariel and John Jr slice through the red ribbon together as confetti explodes around them, smiling crowds dance below, and John Jr shouts joyfully toward her shining red hair.
On the big day, the sun shone bright for Ariel and John Jr. They stood side by side, ready to cut the ribbon. People cheered and tossed confetti everywhere. Ariel blushed when John Jr shouted, “I love my friend’s red hair!” Everyone danced and sang happily together. Their kindness changed the town forever.
