In a warmly lit living room at sunset, Benny sits on a sofa clutching a teddy bear, anxiously watching Benny's mom smile reassuringly. A muted TV nearby displays a bold sickness headline.
Benny heard grown-ups talking about a new sickness spreading around town. "I don't want to get sick," she said worriedly. Her mom smiled. "Don't worry, Benny. You're getting a special vaccine tomorrow. It will teach your body how to stay healthy!" That night, Benny wondered what her body would learn. Inside her arm, tiny cells waited. They had never seen this virus before. How would they know how to fight something they'd never met? Tomorrow would bring answers.
Inside the softly glowing interior of Benny's cell, Dani DNA hovers like a coiled ribbon, presenting shimmering instruction strands to Rile Ribosome at a tiny protein-building workstation. Nearby, unfinished antigen pieces sparkle on conveyor-belt-like membranes under bluish cytoplasmic light.
The next day, Benny got her vaccine. Inside her body, Dani DNA arrived with important instructions. "Hello, cells! I'm carrying a special message," Dani said calmly. Rile Ribosome hurried over. "I'm ready to work!" he said excitedly. Dani showed Rile the DNA instructions. "These will help you build a harmless piece of the virus," Dani explained. Rile got to work immediately, reading the instructions carefully. He built a pretend virus part called an antigen. "This won't make Benny sick," Dani assured everyone. "It's just for practice!"
In a bright lymph-node chamber, Abby Antibody slams a fist into a floating antigen dummy shaped like Viro, eyes fierce. Memo Memory Cell hovers beside a glowing panel, calmly jotting notes under soft golden light.
Abby Antibody studied the antigen Rile had made. "So this is what the virus looks like!" she said bravely. She practiced attacking it over and over. Memo Memory Cell watched closely, taking notes. "I'll remember everything about this virus," Memo said, organized as always. "If it ever comes back, we'll be ready!" Abby and Memo trained hard. They memorized every detail of the virus's shape. "We're protecting Benny," Abby said proudly. Days passed, and Benny felt fine. Her body had learned the secret without getting sick!
Inside the crimson-lit bloodstream, sneaky Viro the Virus darts toward a vessel wall, grinning triumphantly. Abby Antibody blocks his path with outstretched arms while Memo Memory Cell behind her blasts a bright alarm signal, illuminating swirling blood cells.
Weeks later, sneaky Viro the Virus tried to enter Benny's body. "Nobody can stop me!" Viro laughed. But Memo Memory Cell recognized him instantly. "I know you! Sound the alarm!" Memo called out. Abby Antibody rushed over, fast and ready. "Not so fast, Viro!" she said, blocking his path. She stopped him quickly, just like she'd practiced. Viro was defeated before he could make Benny sick. "Thanks to the vaccine, we were ready," Memo explained. Benny stayed healthy and played outside happily, her body's secret defenders working perfectly!
