Captain dozed peacefully on his favorite rug, eyes half-closed in the warm sunlight. Suddenly, Mako bounded over, tail wagging wildly. "Captain! Captain! Look what I found!" Mako dropped a crinkled paper covered in colorful crayon marks. "It's a treasure map!" Captain yawned and studied the squiggly lines. "That looks like the house, Mako." "Exactly! Adventure awaits!" Mako zoomed three circles around Captain. "Come on, slowpoke!" Captain stretched slowly and smiled. "Alright, little buddy. Let's find this treasure."

Mako sprinted toward the kitchen, skidding on the tile floor. "The map says the jungle is this way!" Captain padded behind him steadily. The kitchen transformed in Mako's imagination into a wild jungle of dangling towels and chair-leg trees. "Watch out for the vines!" Mako leaped high, accidentally knocking wooden spoons from the counter. Clatter, clatter, clatter! "Mako, careful," Captain said gently, catching a rolling apple in his mouth. Mako grinned sheepishly. "Oops! But look, the treasure must be close!" He studied the crayon map again, eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Next stop: Couch Cushion Mountains!" Mako declared, racing to the living room. He scrambled up the cushions like climbing a peak. "I'm the king of the mountain!" But suddenly, the cushions shifted. "Whoa, whoa, WHOA!" Mako tumbled between them, paws waving. "Help, Captain!" Captain hurried over and carefully pulled cushions aside with his nose. "I've got you, buddy." He gently tugged Mako free by his collar. Mako shook himself off. "Thanks, Captain. You always protect me." Captain nuzzled him warmly. "That's what big brothers do. Now, where's that treasure?"

The map led them down the hall to a softly glowing room they'd never noticed before. The nursery was filled with tiny blankets, soft toys, and a gentle nightlight. "What is this place?" Mako whispered, eyes wide. Captain's tail wagged slowly. "I think... this is the treasure, Mako. We're getting a baby sibling." Mako zoomed happy circles around the crib. "A tiny human? To protect and play with?" That night, both dogs curled up by the nursery door. "We'll be the best big brothers ever," Captain promised softly. Mako yawned and nodded, already dreaming of new adventures ahead.
