Carson walked into his new classroom feeling nervous. His teacher, Ms. Rodriguez, smiled warmly. "Class, please welcome Carson!" Everyone turned to look at him. Carson's cheeks felt hot. He found an empty seat near the window. A friendly girl named Maya whispered, "Hi! I'm Maya. Don't worry, everyone here is nice." Carson smiled a little. Maybe this school wouldn't be so scary after all. He looked around at his new classmates.

The next day, Ms. Rodriguez announced, "Carson plays piano! Would you play for us?" Carson's heart raced. He wasn't ready! But he didn't want to say no on his second day. He sat at the classroom piano and began to play. His fingers stumbled on the keys. Wrong notes rang out. Some kids giggled. Carson's face burned red. He stopped playing and rushed back to his seat. "It's okay," Maya whispered kindly.

That afternoon, Carson felt upset. But he made a principled decision. "I won't give up," he told himself. Every day after school, Carson practiced piano for one hour. His fingers grew stronger. The notes became clearer. Week after week, he kept practicing. Maya sometimes listened outside the music room. "You're getting really good!" she said. Carson smiled. Hard work was paying off. Then Ms. Rodriguez announced the school talent show. "I want to try again," Carson said bravely.

The auditorium was packed with students and parents. Carson walked onto the stage. His hands trembled slightly, but he remembered all his practice. He placed his fingers on the piano keys and began to play. The music flowed beautifully! Every note was perfect. When he finished, the audience jumped to their feet, cheering and clapping. Maya cheered the loudest. "You did it, Carson!" Ms. Rodriguez beamed with pride. Carson learned that being principled and working hard leads to success. He had found his voice through music.
