Colin was excited and a little nervous. Tomorrow was his first day of kindergarten. He packed his backpack with his favorite pencil and a shiny new notebook. His mom read him a bedtime story to help him sleep. Colin dreamed of all the fun he would have.

When Colin arrived at school, he met his teacher, Mrs. Appleby. She had a warm smile and welcomed him to the class. Colin saw colorful posters and fun toys everywhere. Mrs. Appleby showed him where to hang his backpack. Colin was ready to start his day.

The class sat in a circle on a bright carpet. Mrs. Appleby played a cheerful song on her guitar. Colin clapped along and sang with his classmates. They shared their names and favorite animals. Colin loved circle time and felt happy.

In art class, Colin painted a picture of a rainbow. He used lots of colors and felt proud of his work. Lily painted a smiling sun next to him. They laughed and shared their brushes. Colin realized how fun art could be.

At lunchtime, Colin opened his lunchbox. Inside was a sandwich, an apple, and a cookie. He sat with Lily and some new friends. They talked about their favorite games and toys. Colin discovered that making friends was easy and fun.

After a fun-filled day, Colin returned home. He told his mom all about his adventures at school. Colin couldn't wait to go back the next day. He felt proud for being brave and making new friends. His first day of kindergarten was a big success!
