Cristiano discovered his love for football when he joined a small local team. Every day, he practiced on dusty fields, his feet chasing every pass and goal. With support from his family and encouragement from his friendly mentors, he slowly built his skills despite many challenges. Even when setbacks made him feel low, the kindness of his loved ones kept his dream alive. At age 12 Ronaldo left his family to join Sporting CP's academy in Lisbon all by himself. The kids in Libon bullied him for his Madeiran accent but instead of letting them get him down he used it as motivation.

At age 15 he was diagnosed with a heart condition that almost ended is dream of being a pro football player, but a successful surgery returned him to his dream. He became a stronger player and became more determined to succeed with his early morning practices and late evening matches.
