Mia woke up early. The sun was bright and warm. "What a perfect day!" she said. She saw her friend Tom outside. "Tom! Let's go to the park!" Mia called. Tom waved and smiled. "Yes! Let's have an adventure!" he shouted back. They packed snacks in a basket. Mia found her red hat. Tom brought his blue backpack. "Ready to go?" asked Mia. "Ready!" said Tom. They walked down the path together, excited for their day.

At the park, they found a huge tree. "Wow! Look how tall it is!" said Tom. Mia touched the rough bark. "I wonder what's up there," she said. A little squirrel peeked down at them. "Hello!" squeaked the squirrel. Tom and Mia looked up in surprise. "Did you just talk?" asked Mia. The squirrel nodded. "I'm looking for acorns. Can you help me?" Mia and Tom smiled. "Of course we'll help!" they said together. The three new friends began to search.

They searched under bushes and leaves. "I found one!" shouted Tom. He held up a brown acorn. Mia found two more by a rock. "Here are two more!" she said happily. The squirrel jumped with joy. "You're wonderful friends!" he said. They kept searching and found many acorns. The squirrel's cheeks were full. "Thank you so much! You helped me a lot," said the squirrel. Tom and Mia felt proud. "We love helping friends," said Mia. The squirrel waved goodbye and climbed up the tree.

The sun was setting. Mia and Tom walked home slowly. "What a great day!" said Tom. Mia agreed. "We made a new friend and had an adventure!" she said. They saw the stars beginning to appear. "Tomorrow let's come back," suggested Tom. "Yes! Maybe we'll have another adventure," said Mia. They reached their homes. "Goodnight, Tom!" called Mia. "Goodnight, Mia!" Tom replied. They went inside, happy and tired. It had been the best day ever. They couldn't wait for tomorrow.
