Farmer Bob walked through his farm on a bright sunny morning. His short brown hair moved gently in the breeze. He checked his garden rows and smiled at the growing vegetables. Birds chirped happily in the trees. Bob loved his peaceful farm. Suddenly, he heard strange sounds coming from the carrot patch. Thump, thump, thump! Bob walked closer to listen. What could be making that noise? He wiped his hands on his overalls and headed toward the sound.

Farmer Bob found a brown rabbit caught in the garden fence. The rabbit's leg was stuck between two wire posts. "Oh my! You poor little fellow," Bob said softly. Mr. Rabbit looked up with scared eyes. His ears drooped down sadly. "Don't worry, I'll help you," Bob promised gently. He carefully bent the fence wire. Mr. Rabbit wiggled his leg free. "There you go, all better now!" Bob smiled. Mr. Rabbit hopped twice and looked back at Bob gratefully.

Mr. Rabbit didn't run away. Instead, he hopped closer to Farmer Bob. He nudged Bob's boot with his soft nose. "You're welcome, little friend," Bob chuckled warmly. Mr. Rabbit did a happy bunny hop in a circle. Bob sat down on the grass. Mr. Rabbit hopped into Bob's lap! Bob gently petted the rabbit's soft fur. "Would you like to be friends?" Bob asked. Mr. Rabbit wiggled his nose, which meant yes. Bob laughed joyfully.

From that day on, Mr. Rabbit visited Farmer Bob every morning. Bob left fresh carrots by the garden gate. Mr. Rabbit helped Bob by keeping other rabbits from eating too many vegetables. They would sit together under the old oak tree. Bob told Mr. Rabbit stories about the farm. Mr. Rabbit would listen and twitch his ears. Sometimes Bob brought lettuce for his new friend. The farm felt happier with their friendship. Bob and Mr. Rabbit became the best of friends forever.
