In the sunlit forest morning, Goldilocks stands at the open cottage doorway, long blonde hair catching the light. Warm steam rises from a pot of porridge on the wooden table behind her in the cozy, rustic kitchen.
Deep in the forest, three bears lived in a cozy cottage. Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear made porridge for breakfast. "It's too hot!" said Baby Bear. "Let's walk while it cools," said Mama Bear. The three bears walked into the sunny forest together. Meanwhile, a little girl named Goldilocks wandered nearby. She had long blonde hair and loved exploring. She saw the cottage and knocked on the door. No answer! Goldilocks pushed the door open and peeked inside curiously.
Inside the cottage kitchen at midday, Goldilocks stands by the wooden table, smiling as she spoons porridge from the smallest bowl. Two untouched bowls, one steaming and one cooling, sit beside her under soft window light.
Goldilocks saw three bowls of porridge on the table. She was very hungry! She tasted the biggest bowl. "Too hot!" she said. She tried the medium bowl. "Too cold!" she complained. Then she tasted the smallest bowl. "Just right!" Goldilocks smiled and ate it all up. Her tummy felt full and happy. But she didn't notice the empty bowl she left behind. Goldilocks looked around the cottage for more things to explore and discover.
Upstairs in the quiet cottage bedroom, evening sun glows through the window onto three beds lined in a row. Goldilocks sleeps peacefully on the smallest bed, cheek on hands, with the smashed small chair pieces scattered near the door.
Goldilocks found three chairs. She sat in the big chair. "Too hard!" She tried the medium chair. "Too soft!" The small chair felt perfect, but CRACK! It broke. "Oops!" said Goldilocks. She went upstairs and found three beds. The big bed was too hard. The medium bed was too soft. The small bed felt just right. Goldilocks yawned and fell fast asleep, tired from her forest adventure and all her exploring.
In the same bedroom at midday, soft light filters in as Goldilocks jolts upright in the small bed, eyes wide with surprise. Baby bear points accusingly from the bedside as Mama bear looms behind, the open bedroom door framing sunlight.
The three bears returned home. "Someone ate my porridge!" said Papa Bear. "Someone ate mine too!" said Mama Bear. "Someone ate all of mine!" cried Baby Bear. They saw the chairs. "Someone sat here!" they said. "My chair is broken!" Baby Bear was sad. Upstairs, they found Goldilocks sleeping. "Someone's in my bed!" said Baby Bear. Goldilocks woke up and saw the bears. "Sorry!" she cried and ran home. She learned to never enter someone's house without asking.
