Tango the bulldog wagged his tail. His three best friends were here! Buster the beagle ran up first. Then Mimi the Shih Tzu pranced over. Finally, Bubba the Old English Sheepdog lumbered in. "I missed you all so much!" barked Tango. "Let's play!" The four friends jumped and spun in circles. It had been too long since they were all together. Today would be special.

Tango spotted something brown by the fence. "Look what I found!" he called. It was a big cardboard box. Buster sniffed it carefully. "This is perfect!" he said. His tail wagged faster and faster. "Perfect for what?" asked Mimi. Buster's eyes sparkled. "I have the best idea ever! Follow me, everyone!" The friends gathered around, curious and excited.

Buster led them around the yard. "We need more boxes," he explained. Tango found one behind the shed. Mimi discovered two near the gate. Bubba tried to carry three at once. He stumbled and they tumbled everywhere. "Oops!" Bubba said with a sheepish grin. The friends giggled. Soon they had boxes piled high. "Now what?" asked Tango. Buster smiled mysteriously.

"We're making a pirate ship!" announced Buster. Everyone cheered. They arranged boxes in a long row. Tango pushed the biggest box to the front. Mimi placed smaller ones along the sides. Bubba stacked boxes to make a tall mast. "This is looking great!" said Mimi. They worked together perfectly. Each friend knew just what to do. Their ship was taking shape.

Buster stepped back to look. "It's perfect!" he declared. The friends climbed aboard their box ship. Tango stood at the front like a captain. Mimi sat on a middle box. Buster grabbed a stick for a telescope. Bubba stood by the tall mast. "All aboard!" shouted Tango. "Let's set sail!" The friends closed their eyes and began to imagine.

The yard disappeared. Suddenly they were on real water! Waves splashed gently against their ship. "Look at the ocean!" gasped Mimi. Blue water stretched everywhere. Tango pointed ahead. "Full speed forward!" A warm breeze blew through their fur. Buster looked through his telescope stick. "I see something swimming!" The friends rushed to the side to look.

Dolphins leaped beside the ship! Their sleek bodies sparkled in the sunshine. "They're beautiful!" squealed Mimi. A sea turtle paddled past slowly. Colorful fish darted under the waves. Bubba spotted a jellyfish floating by. "Everything is so amazing down there," said Tango. The friends watched in wonder. The ocean was full of magical creatures. This was the best adventure ever!

Dark clouds rolled across the sky. The sunshine disappeared. "Uh oh," said Buster nervously. The waves grew bigger and rougher. Wind began to blow harder. Their ship rocked back and forth. "Hold on tight!" yelled Tango. Lightning flashed in the distance. Thunder rumbled loud and low. The friends gripped their boxes. The storm was getting closer and closer.

A huge wave crashed over the deck! Water splashed everywhere. The ship tilted sideways sharply. Mimi slid toward the edge! "Help!" she yelped. Her paws scrambled on the wet box. She couldn't hold on much longer. The edge was right there! "Mimi!" her friends shouted together. Another wave was coming. Mimi needed help right now!

Bubba rushed forward bravely. He grabbed Mimi's collar firmly. With a strong pull, he yanked her back to safety. "I've got you!" Bubba said. Mimi tumbled into his fluffy fur. "Thank you, Bubba!" she panted. Her heart was beating fast. Buster and Tango cheered loudly. Bubba had saved their friend! But Bubba's paws were slipping. The deck was very wet.

Bubba's clumsy paws slid on the box. His legs went in different directions. "Whoa, whoa, WHOA!" he yelped. Bubba tumbled backward over the edge! "BUBBA!" everyone screamed. He splashed into the dark water. His white and grey fur disappeared under the waves. The friends reached out their paws. But Bubba was gone. The storm howled around them.

Everything went dark. Suddenly they were back in the yard! Rain poured down on them. The boxes were soaked and flat. Bubba sat in a puddle, dripping wet. "That was some imagination!" laughed Tango. The friends looked at each other and giggled. Their pirate adventure was over. But they were together, and that's what mattered. "Same time tomorrow?" asked Buster. Everyone barked yes!
