Hugo lay in bed, rubbing his rumbling tummy. He felt sad because he’d forgotten to collect food today. “Oh no, what will I eat?” sighed Hugo. His big eyes looked around hopefully. Hugo decided to ask his hippo friends for help.

Hugo waddled to his friends and asked, “Can I have some food, please?” Each friend shook their head and said, “Sorry, Hugo, not today.” Hugo’s belly rumbled even louder as he walked away. He felt lonelier as his friends all said no.

Just then, a cheerful hippo with a bright smile came over. “Would you like to share my delicious lunch?” she asked. Hugo’s eyes lit up as she handed him some food. “Food is yummier when we share!” she giggled. Hugo grinned and his tummy felt happy again.

The next day, Hugo remembered to collect extra food. He saw a new hippo sitting alone and hungry. “Would you like to share my snacks?” Hugo asked kindly. The new friend smiled, and together they enjoyed a tasty meal. Sharing made both their tummies and hearts feel full!
