Spike wakes up in his white hospital bed. His leg hurts a little bit. Lylah the Lion smiles and waves. "Good morning, Spike!" she says softly. She brings him a yummy breakfast.
Bright afternoon light fills the same hospital room. Alli bends near Spike's bed, gently tapping the sturdy white cast while Spike sits upright, beaming and giving a thumbs-up.
Doctor Alli comes to check the leg. "Your cast looks strong," the Alligator says. Spike feels very brave now. "Thank you, Doctor!" Spike cheers happily. He is ready to get better.
Under soft evening lamplight in Spike's hospital room, Tom stands at the bedside holding a small medicine cup. Spike, still in bed, tilts his head back mid-swallow, face scrunched at the taste.
Tom the Turtle walks in slowly. He carries a small cup for Spike. "Here is your medicine," Tom explains. Spike drinks it all down. "Yuck, but it helps!" Spike giggles.
Morning light spills across the hospital corridor outside Spike's room. Sully positions two wooden crutches in front of Spike, who balances on his good foot, right leg cast held aloft, smiling wide as the crutches touch the glossy floor.
Sully the Sloth brings two wooden crutches. "Take a slow step," Sully guides him. Spike tries to walk carefully. Clack, clack go the crutches! "I can do it!" cries Spike.
