On a sunny dirt road between villages, Jesus walks at the front while Peter and John follow a step behind, all smiling and dusty-sandaled. Dry olive trees line the roadside beneath bright afternoon light.
Jesus walked with His twelve special friends called disciples. They traveled from town to town together. Jesus taught people about God's love. He told wonderful stories. The disciples listened and learned. They helped Jesus talk to everyone. Peter, John, and the others loved being with Jesus. They saw Him do amazing things every day.
Inside a modest clay-walled room lit by morning sun through a small window, Jesus kneels and gently lifts a smiling little girl by the hand. Her mother stands to one side, tearful and clasping her hands.
A sick man came to Jesus. 'Please help me,' he said. Jesus touched him gently and he was healed! A little girl who could not walk came next. Jesus took her hand. 'Stand up,' He said with a smile. She jumped up and ran to her mother! Everyone was amazed. Jesus loved helping people feel better.
Under moonlit waves, Jesus stands calmly on the dark lake surface, soft ripples around His feet. In the rocking wooden boat nearby, Peter leans over the rail, wide-eyed and gripping the edge while lantern light flickers.
The disciples were in a boat on the lake. Big waves rocked the boat back and forth. They saw someone walking toward them on top of the water! It was Jesus! Peter called out, 'Lord, is that you?' Jesus said, 'Don't be afraid. It's me!' The disciples couldn't believe their eyes. Jesus was walking on water!
In a bustling temple courtyard at midday, Jesus teaches beside stone columns, hands raised and face warm. Two Pharisee leaders lurk in the shaded archway, scowling with folded arms as curious townspeople listen.
Some religious leaders did not like Jesus. They were called Pharisees and Sadducees. They watched Jesus teach the people. 'Who does He think He is?' they grumbled. They didn't believe Jesus came from God. The leaders made mean plans. They wanted to stop Jesus from teaching. But Jesus kept loving everyone anyway.
Among moonlit olive trees in the garden, Judas points toward Jesus while a helmeted soldier grasps Jesus' arm. Jesus stands calm yet saddened, torches casting flickering amber light on leaves and anxious faces.
Soldiers came to arrest Jesus in a garden. One of His disciples, Judas, showed the soldiers where Jesus was. The other disciples were very scared. They ran away into the night. Jesus was taken away by the soldiers. He did not fight back. Even though He was sad, Jesus was brave. He knew God had a special plan.
Inside a torch-lit fortress courtyard before dawn, Jesus stands bound and bruised, eyes peaceful. Two armored soldiers laugh and mock, one holding a reed, their shadows stretching across rough stone walls.
The soldiers were not kind to Jesus. They said mean things to Him. They made fun of Him and laughed. Jesus did not say mean things back. He stayed quiet and brave. Even when people were cruel, Jesus showed love. His friends were far away and could not help. Jesus was all alone now.
On the hill called Golgotha under a midday sky turned dark, Jesus hangs on a wooden cross above rocky ground. Mary kneels weeping at the foot while John stands beside her, hand on her shoulder.
Jesus was put on a wooden cross on a hill. It was a very sad day. The sky grew dark. Jesus' mother Mary cried as she watched. His disciple John stood with her. Jesus looked down at them with love. 'Take care of each other,' He said softly. Then Jesus died. Everyone who loved Him was heartbroken.
At dusk outside a rock-hewn tomb, two friends wrap Jesus' lifeless body in clean linen while an oil lamp glows against the stone. A massive round stone waits nearby, ready to seal the entrance.
Jesus' friends took His body down from the cross. They wrapped Him in clean cloth. They placed Him in a tomb carved from rock. It was like a cave in the hillside. Then strong men rolled a huge, heavy stone across the entrance. Now no one could get in. The tomb was sealed tight. Everyone went home crying.
At sunrise outside the open tomb, two women carrying spice jars stare at the rolled-aside stone. A brilliant angel in white stands on the stone, wings glowing in golden morning light.
Three days later, two women went to visit the tomb. They wanted to put sweet spices near Jesus. But when they arrived, the big stone was rolled away! They looked inside the tomb. Jesus was not there! Suddenly, a bright angel appeared. 'Don't be afraid!' the angel said with a smile. The women were amazed and confused.
Inside the dim tomb doorway lit by lingering dawn rays, the brilliant angel gestures toward the empty stone shelf, speaking joyfully. Two women carrying spice jars listen wide-eyed, tears of joy on their cheeks.
The angel spoke to the women. 'Why do you look for Jesus here? He is not dead anymore! Jesus has risen, just like He said He would!' The women could hardly believe the wonderful news. 'Go tell His disciples!' the angel said. The women's tears of sadness turned to tears of joy. They ran as fast as they could!
In a small candle-lit room that evening, Jesus suddenly appears between Peter and John, showing the empty tomb cloths on a low table. Peter gasps with hand to chest while John leans forward, eyes shining.
The women found the disciples and told them everything. 'Jesus is alive! We saw the angel! The tomb is empty!' At first, the disciples didn't believe it. Peter and John ran to the tomb to see. The tomb really was empty! Soon, Jesus appeared to them. He was really alive! They could see Him and talk to Him!
In a bright morning room with open windows, Jesus smiles and stretches out His scarred hands. Peter clasps one hand gently while John beams beside him.
Jesus spent time with His disciples again. He showed them He was real, not a ghost. 'Touch my hands,' Jesus said kindly. The disciples were filled with joy! They hugged Jesus and celebrated. Jesus had died, but now He was alive again! This was the most wonderful miracle ever. Jesus loves everyone, and He is alive today!
