Jordy, seven, hugged her little bedside light. Storm shadows wriggled, waltzing across the night. She whispered, "Let your light shine" (Matthew 5:16), bright. "With God near, I will stand in might."

The hallway yawned long, the switch out of sight. Jordy tiptoed, knuckles tight. She whispered, "The Lord is my light" (Psalm 27:1), tonight. "With you, I walk by faith, not sight."

A school flyer shouted, "Auditions for the play!" Jordy's knees wobbled; her heart whispered, "Stay." She read, "Be strong and courageous" (Joshua 1:9) today. God goes with me; I'll try anyway.

In her room, Jordy practiced, voice sincere. She hiccupped, then smiled, "You're with me here." "God gave power, love, self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7), clear. I'll face stage; I won't bow to fear.

Wind whooshed; blinds rattled in gust. Jordy breathed slowly, "In God I trust." She whispered, "When I'm afraid, I trust in you" (Psalm 56:3), trust. Lights dimmed; Jordy's heartbeat found steady trust.

Morning sun peeked through the dancing tree. She opened her Bible, cozy on one knee. "Faith is confidence... not seen" (Hebrews 11:1), said she. "I trust your promises, though I can't see."

Jordy drew a poster, colors bright and great. She wrote, "Trust the Lord; paths made straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). "Guide me kindly; make my steps straight." Worries thinned; courage stood up straight.

At rehearsal, Jordy stepped onto the scene. Her stomach fluttered like leaves bright green. She whispered, "I can do all things" (Philippians 4:13), serene. "Christ strengthens me," she smiled, calm between.

At recess, the tall playground ladder stood near. Jordy gulped once, then grinned ear to ear. "Do not fear; I'm with you" (Isaiah 41:10), clear. "Step by step, God holds me here."

Show night came; stage lights blazed bright. She prayed, "Be strong in the Lord" (Ephesians 6:10), tonight. She whispered, "Let your light shine" (Matthew 5:16), bright. Her voice rang, filling hearts with light.

Curtains closed; cheers echoed through the day. Jordy thanked God, smiling a humble way. Classmates asked, "How'd you stand so brave today?" She shared verses, "God is with us; let's pray."

Back home, Jordy snuggled, calm as eve. She prayed, "Don't be afraid; just believe" (Mark 5:36). "With you beside me, I'll bravely achieve." Her light of faith glowed warm, like quiet eve.
