Each morning Kato fed his goat,
With fresh green grass, the best to note.
He brushed its coat with gentle care,
And led it out to fresh clean air.

One sunny day by river's edge,
Kato played near water's ledge.
His goat was grazing on the hill,
While Kato splashed with joyful thrill.

When playtime ended with the sun,
Kato looked where goat should run.
But empty was the grassy space,
No goat was found in any place!

Tears fell down from Kato's eyes,
As darkness filled the evening skies.
'Where's my goat?' poor Kato cried,
Feeling empty deep inside.

Home he went with hanging head,
'I lost my goat,' young Kato said.
Father's face was stern but kind,
'We'll search at dawn, the goat we'll find.'

Morning came with golden light,
Kato woke with newfound might.
With father's help, the search began,
Through village paths the two boys ran.

They asked the neighbors one by one,
'Have you seen my goat that's run?'
The village joined the searching quest,
Each person trying their very best.

Small hoofprints led them to a wood,
Kato followed as best he could.
Through bushes thick and grasses tall,
He heard a distant bleating call!

There by the stream, caught in some vines,
Stood his goat making bleating signs.
Kato rushed with joyful shout,
Freeing his friend with care throughout.

Back to the village, side by side,
Kato walked with newfound pride.
His goat was safe, no longer lost,
But learning came at quite a cost.

'I'll watch you close,' young Kato vowed,
As before his goat he bowed.
'Responsibility is clear to see,
I'll care for you, you're dear to me.'
