Kayla was nervous to start Kindergarten. She had never been to school before and didn't know what to expect. When she got to her classroom, she met a boy named Bobby. Bobby was very friendly and liked to play with everyone. But sometimes, Bobby would touch Kayla's hair or poke her, and it made Kayla uncomfortable.

During playtime, Kayla was building a tower with blocks. Bobby came over and started touching her hair again. Kayla didn't like it and she started to cry. She didn't know how to tell Bobby to stop. Instead, she kicked him, and Bobby got very sad.

That night, Kayla's mom, Mindy, noticed that Kayla was upset. Kayla told her mom what happened at school with Bobby. Mindy explained that it's important to use words to express how we feel. She told Kayla to say, 'I don't like it when you touch my hair,' if Bobby did it again. Kayla felt better and decided to try using her words the next day.

The next day, Bobby started to poke Kayla again. This time, Kayla took a deep breath and said, 'I don't like it when you touch my hair.' Bobby looked surprised but then said, 'I'm sorry, Kayla. I won't do it again.' Ms. Melanie, their teacher, saw what happened and praised Kayla for using her words. Kayla and Bobby played together nicely for the rest of the day, and everyone was happy.
