In a sun-drenched meadow, luna stands on short grass, waving upward with a bright smile. Above her, cloudy, the small gray cloud, hovers close against the clear blue morning sky.
Luna loved the sky. Every day, she looked up and smiled at the fluffy clouds. One sunny morning, she saw a tiny gray cloud floating all alone. It looked sad and small. "Hello there," Luna called out, waving her hand. The little cloud wiggled and drifted closer to her. Luna could see it was lonely. "What's your name?" she asked. "I'm Cloudy," whispered the cloud softly.
Under the clear midday sky at the same meadow, cloudy droops low in front of luna. luna smiles softly, placing a hand over her heart while golden sunlight frames them.
"Why are you all alone, Cloudy?" Luna asked gently. The little cloud drooped lower in the sky. "I feel too small," Cloudy said sadly. "The big clouds don't notice me." Luna shook her head with a warm smile. "Small things can be very special too," she told her new friend. "Will you stay with me today?" Cloudy perked up a little. "Really? You want me to stay?" Luna nodded happily.
In the sunny meadow afternoon, luna sits cross-legged in cloudy's cool round shadow on the grass. Above her, cloudy stretches into a fluffy bunny silhouette that catches the warm light.
Cloudy followed Luna everywhere she went that day. When the sun got hot, Cloudy gave Luna cool shade. Luna smiled and thanked her friend. Cloudy started making funny shapes in the sky. First a bunny, then a silly face. Luna laughed and laughed at each shape. "You're so clever, Cloudy!" she said. Cloudy felt happy for the first time. Being small was becoming fun.
Late afternoon light bathes the meadow as several towering white clouds form a circle around cloudy, who now glows softly. Below, luna stands with arms raised and a wide grin, emerald grass rustling in a gentle breeze.
Soon, other clouds drifted over to see what was happening. They saw Cloudy making Luna laugh and smile. "Your shapes are wonderful," said one big cloud. "You're so good at making shade," said another. The clouds surrounded Cloudy with warmth. "You are not too small at all," they all agreed. "You are just right!" Cloudy glowed with happiness. Luna beamed up at her special friend. Sometimes the smallest friends make the biggest difference.
