Max woke up to bright sunshine and a sky without clouds. "Today's the day!" he whispered. He stretched like a hero. Flying sounded perfect. His heart buzzed like a cheerful engine.

He hopped from bed and grabbed his toothbrush. "Clean teeth, strong hero," Max declared. He brushed circles until they sparkled. Minty foam made him giggle. Mum called, "Nice work, Super Max!"

"Fuel time!" he said, pouring crunchy cereal. He added milk and strawberries. "Crunch, crunch," went the bowl. "Stronger already," Max laughed. Mum smiled. "Eat up, hero."

Max dashed to his room and found his shiny blue cape. A big S and his name gleamed. He tied it confidently. Sunglasses on. "Super Max, ready!" he cheered.

"Bye, Mum. I'm going flying!" Max announced. He stepped into the garden, grass tickling his toes. Deep breath in. Arm pointed up. "Three, two, one, liftoff!"

Max zoomed into the blue, blue sky. Cold air whooshed past his hair. He laughed, "This is amazing!" The neighborhood shrank below. Birds flittered beside him, cheering.

"I can see everything!" he shouted. Edinburgh Castle sat like a giant crown. Toy shops sprinkled colors along the streets. Farther out, farms patterned the fields. "Hi, cows and sheep!" he waved.

A dragon-shaped cloud puffed a golden sun-breath. "Roar!" Max giggled. A snowman-shaped kite bobbed hello. "Nice to meet you, sky friends!" He waved, cape fluttering like applause.

A friendly, caped commuter zipped by and gave a thumbs-up. Max returned it proudly. A shiny UFO-shaped balloon beeped its string tag. "Beep-beep!" he answered. Adventure felt everywhere.

Pigeons twirled like tiny dancers. Seagulls glided beside him, singing. "Hi, feathery pals!" Max called. The sea glittered, waving silver. He breathed the salty breeze happily.

His tummy rumbled like a friendly thundercloud. "Lunch time," he decided. "Rocket speed!" Max shouted, angling home. He sliced the sky faster than a rocket ship. Landing practice engaged.

Max touched down softly in the garden. Mum waved with a plate of chicken nuggets. "Mission complete," he said. "Super Max needs nuggets!" They grinned, planning tomorrow's flight.
