Milo sat with his paper, saying, “I’m going to draw the tallest tree ever!” Sammy, Cally, and Tavio gathered around, smiling and eager to watch.

Milo drew quickly, but his lines wiggled and wobbled. “Oh no, it looks messy,” Milo frowned, staring at his picture. His friends peeked over, curious.

Milo sighed and pushed his paper away. “I can’t draw trees,” he groaned. Cally adjusted her glasses and gently touched his shoulder, “It’s okay, Milo.”

Sammy bounced in excitement. “Let’s look at what you like about your drawing!” she cheered. Tavio nodded and said, “Every artist starts somewhere.”

They all looked at the drawing together. “I like the big, round leaves,” Cally said. Milo smiled a little, noticing the bright shapes.

“What can I try differently?” asked Milo. Tavio suggested, “Try drawing just the shapes first.” Sammy grinned, “Yes! Big circles for leaves and a straight line for the trunk!”

Milo grabbed a new sheet of paper. “Here I go,” he said, taking a deep breath. He drew one circle, then another, then a rectangle trunk.

Sammy drew her own tree with a wiggly trunk. Cally made a tiny tree with glasses like hers. They all giggled, filling the page with playful trees.

Milo added little branches and colorful leaves. “It’s working!” he cheered. Tavio nodded, “You tried a new way and it’s awesome.”

Milo held up his second sketch. “Look at my tree now!” he beamed. Sammy clapped, “It’s amazing, Milo!”

Cally smiled, “See what happens when you reflect and try again?” Milo grinned, proud of his new drawing and happy to learn something new.

Milo said, "Next time something feels tricky, I’ll remember to pause and think first." Everyone cheered, proud of Milo’s second sketch—and his big heart.
