Mishti was getting ready for bed in her cozy room. Her mumma tucked her in with a soft blanket. Just then, Mishti saw something sparkle outside her window. A bright star was waving at her! The star had two big eyes and a happy smile. "Hi, Mishti!" said the star in a tiny, sweet voice. Mishti giggled and reached out her little hand. But when Mumma turned around, the star quickly hid behind a cloud. "Time to sleep, my sweet girl," said Mumma, kissing her forehead.

The next morning, Mishti woke up early. She ran to the window and looked up at the sky. Where was her star friend? The sun was bright and shiny, but no star appeared. Mishti waited and waited. She ate her breakfast near the window. She played with her toys near the window. All day long, Mishti kept looking outside. "The star will come back," she whispered to herself. When evening came, the sky turned pink and orange. Mishti pressed her nose against the glass, watching and waiting.

Night came and the sky grew dark. Mishti looked out the window, searching for her star. Suddenly, she saw two big, round eyes staring at her from the tree! The eyes blinked in the darkness. Mishti felt scared. Her lip began to wobble. She was about to cry when suddenly, a bright light appeared! It was the star, floating down from the sky! "Don't be afraid, Mishti!" said the star cheerfully. The star's warm light lit up the tree and Mishti's face. In the glow, Mishti saw the truth.

The big eyes belonged to a fluffy squirrel with a bushy tail! The squirrel looked shy but very cute. "This is my friend, Squirrel," said the star. "Hello, Mishti!" squeaked the squirrel sweetly. Mishti clapped her tiny hands and smiled so big, her two little teeth showed! The star twirled and danced in the air. The squirrel jumped and played on the tree branch. Mishti laughed and waved from her window. "We're all friends now!" said the star happily. And from that night on, the three friends played together every evening.
