In Louisiana's bayou, green and deep, lived Princess Adeline, time for sleep. All day she splashed and played with cheer, among the cypress trees so near. The golden sky turned purple light, the big bright sun said soft goodnight. He found a cloud so fluffy white, a giant pillow for the night. "The sun is sleepy now," said he, and tucked himself in, dreamily. Princess Adeline watched him go, the sky began its gentle glow.

The Mississippi River, mighty and wide, slowed its ripples, a gentle tide. The water sang a quiet song, humming soft the whole night long. The fish tucked under lily pads, sleeping soundly, dreaming glad. The frogs were humming, low and deep, the river whispered, "Time for sleep." Princess Adeline watched it rest, knowing quiet times are best. "The river's sleepy now," she said, and yawned while Mama stroked her head.

Princess Adeline snuggled close and tight, to Mama Earth in fading light. Mama whispered, soft and low, a special secret she should know. "The Baboo's tired from growing today, it worked so hard at work and play. The Baboo now is sleepy too, it needs to rest, just like you. The Sun, the River, Baboo sleep, their dreams are long, their slumber deep. They'll wake up bright when morning comes, to play with you beneath the sun."

The Princess felt a little sad, to say goodnight to all she had. But Mama Earth was right here near, her warm arms held her, safe and dear. "I am here," Mama whispered low, "I'll hold you tight through night's soft glow. Through all the dark, through all the night, I'll keep you safe till morning light." The bayou quieted, clouds so soft, Princess Adeline drifted off. Goodnight, dear Princess, Baboo too, sweet dreams await the whole night through.
