Noah hugged his pillow tightly. "I don't like the dark," he whispered. Shadows danced and wiggled on his bedroom walls. He thought, "Maybe there are monsters." His mother smiled, "Shadows can’t hurt you, Noah." Still, Noah closed his eyes, wishing for morning.

Suddenly, Noah noticed a soft glow under his bed. "What's that?" he wondered aloud. Crawling down, he found a little lantern shining bright. Noah’s eyes grew wide. He gave the lantern a gentle shake. Tiny sparkles floated into his room.

Out popped a shining firefly, its wings twinkling. "Hello!" the firefly said cheerfully. Noah gasped, "Did you just talk?" The firefly nodded and buzzed in a loop. "I’m Luna," she said, "your friend for the night." Noah grinned, his worries fading.

"Hold on tight," Luna giggled. The lantern floated up, lifting Noah with it. Noah clung to the handle, laughing in surprise. His room shrank smaller and smaller below. They soared past rooftops and trees. Noah’s heart thumped with excitement.

Stars blinked hello as Noah floated by. "Welcome, Noah!" sang a twinkly voice. The stars sparkled and wiggled in friendly shapes. One star winked, "We keep the sky bright at night." Noah waved, feeling safe among his new friends. "You’re all so nice!" he cheered.

"Let’s visit the moon," said Luna. They drifted closer, and the moon yawned, wiping away a cloud pillow. "Who comes to visit at bedtime?" he asked gently. "It’s me, Noah," called out Noah. The moon smiled, "Don’t fear the night, young one." Noah giggled, feeling braver.

Zipping comets flew by, swirling in circles. "Catch us if you can!" they teased Noah. Noah and Luna chased the comets, laughing together. Streaks of colorful light followed behind them. "The night is full of games," said a comet. Noah cheered, soaring through the sky.

Tired from chasing, Noah lay on a cloud. The stars gently covered him with a sparkling blanket. "Rest, brave traveler," whispered Luna. "Thank you," Noah said, smiling. He felt safe and warm. The night didn’t feel scary anymore.

"Every shadow hides something wonderful," Luna explained softly. "Like helpful stars, or hopeful dreams." Noah nodded, understanding now. "I think I like the nighttime," he whispered. Luna buzzed closer and hugged his cheek. "You are very brave, Noah," she said.

The lantern started to drift down, lower and lower. "Time for bed," said Luna kindly. Noah didn’t want to leave his new friends. "Will you visit again?" he asked. "Always," promised Luna with a wink. Noah waved to the stars as he drifted home.

Noah landed softly back in his room. His lantern glowed gently beside him. The shadows on his walls danced, but didn’t scare him now. "Goodnight, stars," Noah whispered. He closed his eyes and smiled. For the first time, Noah wasn’t afraid.

Noah dreamed of the starry sky and his friends. Luna waved from a moonbeam, smiling bright. Noah soared over comets, laughing with joy. He didn’t fear the night anymore. Now, every dream was an adventure. Tomorrow, the wonders would return.
