Oliver stacked blocks. Mommy called, 'Oliver, come here, please.' Oliver paused, smiled, and toddled over. 'Great listening,' Mommy said, hugging him. Daddy waved, 'High five, helper.' Oliver giggled and clapped.

Lucy tugged a shoelace. 'Stop, please,' Daddy said gently. Oliver froze, hands still. 'Thank you for stopping,' Daddy smiled. Oliver patted Lucy softly. 'I listened,' he whispered, proud.

Outside, the sidewalk glittered after rain. 'Hold my hand,' Nana said. Oliver slipped his fingers into hers. They stepped around puddles together. 'Safe and steady,' Nana cheered. Oliver squeezed back, grinning.

Blocks toppled loudly, and Oliver gasped. He began to shout. 'Inside voice, please,' Mommy whispered. Oliver took a big breath. 'Okay,' he said calmly. Mommy smiled, 'Thank you for stopping and listening.'

Toy cars zoomed across the rug. 'Clean-up time,' Daddy announced. Oliver parked cars in the bin. 'Vroom to bed,' he giggled. Daddy clapped. 'You followed directions quickly—great listening, Oliver.'

The house grew quiet after lunch. 'Nap time,' Mommy said softly. Oliver cuddled his blanket. Lucy curled beside the crib. 'Goodnight, buddy,' Daddy whispered. Oliver sighed happily and drifted to sleep.

Cookies cooled on the counter. 'We wait until they cool,' Mommy said. Oliver folded his hands. Lucy wagged but waited too. 'Patient team!' Nana laughed. Pop Pop counted softly, 'One, two, three—ready.'

Before the park, Daddy said, 'Shoes on, coat by door, hat on.' Oliver nodded. He did each step carefully. 'All done!' he chirped. Daddy beamed, 'You listened and followed directions perfectly.'

At the park, Oliver rolled a ball. 'Gentle with Lucy,' Mommy reminded. Oliver tossed softly. Lucy, the black long-haired labradoodle, bounded back happily. 'Good friends,' Oliver said. Lucy licked his cheek.

On a family walk, Pop Pop pointed, 'Curb ahead.' Oliver stopped. He held Daddy's hand. Nana said, 'Look both ways.' They waited, then crossed together. 'Safe listening makes walks fun,' Mommy cheered.

At dinner, Mommy said, 'You listened all day.' Daddy added, 'That deserves something special.' Oliver's eyes sparkled. 'Park picnic?' he asked. Nana and Pop Pop nodded. 'Tomorrow, family picnic!' everyone cheered.

The sun shone on the picnic blanket. Oliver came when called, shared snacks, and waited his turn. Lucy napped beside him. 'Best listener,' Daddy said. Mommy hugged him. Oliver beamed, 'Family time is special.'
