Inside his bright bedroom on a sunny morning, Siva Nikilesh slips on blue sneakers and a tan explorer hat beside the open door. Sunlight streams across colorful toys, highlighting his wide smile.
Siva Nikilesh woke up with a big smile. “Today, I’m going on a shape adventure!” he cheered. He put on his shoes and explorer hat. Little feet jumped out the door. The adventure had begun. “Let’s find shapes!” he laughed.
On a bright sidewalk at midday, Siva Nikilesh kneels next to a metal street sign shaped like a perfect square. He gently touches one corner, grinning proudly under the clear blue sky.
On the sidewalk, Siva pointed. “Look! That sign is a square. It has four equal sides,” he said proudly. He touched the corners gently. “Squares are everywhere!” Siva grinned.
Indoors on a sunny afternoon, Siva Nikilesh stands by his bedroom window, tracing the long edge of the rectangular glass with a finger. Warm light pours through, illuminating his thoughtful smile.
Siva pointed at his window. “That’s a rectangle! Two sides are longer,” he told himself. He traced it with his finger. “Rectangles can be tall or wide.” He smiled at the discovery.
In a green park under a bright midday sun, Siva Nikilesh twirls on the grass while gazing up at the glowing circular sun overhead. Sunlight sparkles around him and his delighted grin.
At the park, Siva looked up. “The sun is a circle—so round!” he said. He spun around in a little circle. “No corners, just round and round.” The sun made him giggle.
At the park flagpole on a breezy afternoon, Siva Nikilesh looks up, counting with raised fingers the three corners of a fluttering triangular flag. The cloth ripples against a pale blue sky, reflecting in his excited eyes.
He saw a flag waving high. “That flag is a triangle,” Siva shouted. He counted, “One, two, three corners!” The flag fluttered above him. Triangles looked fun to him. He waved back at it.
On a sunny driveway, Siva Nikilesh crouches over gray pavement, drawing a five-pointed star with pink chalk. The fresh chalk dust glows in the afternoon light as he beams proudly.
On the ground, Siva found chalk. He drew a star and smiled. “A star has five sparkly arms!” he said. The star twinkled on the pavement. He clapped his hands with joy. “Stars are magic shapes!”
At the kitchen table under warm ceiling lights, Siva Nikilesh holds a heart-shaped cookie near his mouth, cheeks lifted in a joyful smile. Crumbs rest on a patterned plate beside a glass of milk.
Siva found a heart-shaped cookie. “My favorite shape!” he cheered. He took a big, happy bite. “Hearts mean love,” he whispered. The cookie tasted sweet and warm. He smiled, thinking of Mommy.
Beside a sparkling pond on a breezy afternoon, Siva Nikilesh leaps with arms up toward a diamond-shaped kite dancing in the sky. Tall reeds sway behind him, reflecting in the sunlit water.
Near the pond, Siva saw a kite. “It’s diamond-shaped like my kite!” he laughed. The kite danced in the breeze. Siva jumped and waved. “Diamonds shine in the sky!” he giggled. He wished to fly, too.
In a backyard sandbox on a bright morning, Siva Nikilesh uses a thin stick to outline an oval in the soft sand. Tiny toy buckets sit nearby as he concentrates with tongue between teeth.
Siva sat in his sandbox. With a stick, he drew an oval. “Ovals look like stretched circles,” he said. He tried to trace it perfectly. “I like oval eggs!” he giggled. Drawing was so much fun!
Sprawled on soft park grass in late afternoon light, Siva Nikilesh points around him naming invisible squares, triangles, circles and stars. Golden sunlight filters through nearby trees, illuminating his proud, thoughtful face.
Siva sat on the soft grass. He looked around at all the shapes. “Squares, triangles, circles, and stars!” he counted. The world was full of shapes. “Shapes make everything interesting,” Siva thought. He felt proud of his adventure.
On a checkered picnic blanket at midday, Siva Nikilesh arranges a round sandwich, triangle fruit slice, and oval egg on a square plate. Sunshine casts crisp shadows as he giggles before taking a bite.
He set out a round sandwich on a square plate. A triangle fruit and oval egg joined in. “My lunch is made of shapes!” he cheered. Siva giggled, munching happily. Shapes made every meal special.
Inside his dim bedroom at sunset, soft orange light glows through curtains as Siva Nikilesh hugs a plush heart-shaped pillow on his bed. His eyes close gently, stars from a night-light twinkling on the wall.
As the sun set, Siva yawned. “Thank you, shapes, for a great day,” he whispered. He hugged his heart-shaped pillow. Curling up, he closed his eyes. Dreaming of more shapes to find. Tomorrow’s adventure would be fun, too!
