On the outdoor soccer field under clear daylight, Sally frowns sitting cross-legged on the grass, hugging the mis-rolled soccer ball while other kids in the background kick their balls swiftly toward the distant goal.
Sally ran to the soccer field with a big smile. She kicked the ball, but it rolled the wrong way. "Oh no!" she said. The other kids kicked their balls straight and fast. Sally frowned and sat down on the grass. "I can't do this," she whispered.
Near the sideline of the soccer field in gentle daylight, Coach kneels beside seated Sally, smiling warmly as she hands her the soccer ball and places a reassuring hand on the girl's shoulder.
Coach walked over and sat beside Sally. "Soccer is hard at first," Coach said with a kind smile. "But you can learn with practice." Sally looked up at Coach. "Really?" she asked. "Yes! Let's try together," Coach said, handing Sally the ball.
In the school soccer field during late-afternoon light, Sally swings her leg and the soccer ball streaks into the netted goal, while she stands mid-kick with a wide victorious grin.
Sally practiced every day after school. She kicked the ball again and again. Sometimes it went far, sometimes it didn't. But Sally kept trying and didn't give up. One day, she kicked the ball right into the goal! "I did it!" Sally shouted happily.
On the grassy yard outside under soft daylight, Sally gently guides Sammy's small foot toward the soccer ball, smiling encouragingly as Sammy watches her demonstration with bright, eager eyes.
Little brother Sammy ran outside to watch Sally play. "Can you teach me?" Sammy asked with big eyes. Sally smiled and gave him the ball. "Kick it like this," she said, showing him. Sammy tried and laughed. "You're a great teacher, Sally!" he said.
