At the sunlit garden gate, Oreo stands on hind paws gazing at a bright butterfly hovering over blooming flowers. Komi peeks from behind the wooden post, eyes wide.
Oreo spotted a beautiful butterfly near the garden gate. "Look!" she mewed, her round eyes wide. Komi, Yoshi, and Hiro chased after her giggling. The butterfly fluttered into the trees. Suddenly, the path home vanished behind them. "Where did the garden go?" whispered Yoshi.
On a dim forest path at dusk, Yoshi kneels beside Hiro who sits rubbing his paw next to a snapped twig. Moonlight filters through tangled branches overhead.
"This place is spooky," shivered Komi, her fur puffed up. Oreo tried to look brave for the others. Hiro tripped on a stick and tumbled softly. Yoshi comforted him, patting his paw. "We need to find Mommy and Daddy!" Oreo declared. The kittens huddled close, listening for help.
At the garden’s edge under overcast afternoon light, Mommy Cat studies a line of tiny muddy paw prints leading into shadowy trees. Daddy Cat stands close, tail bristling and eyes alert.
Mommy Cat saw the empty garden and called, "Oreo! Komi! Yoshi! Hiro!" Daddy Cat rushed over, his fur bristling with worry. "We must find our little kittens," he said gently. Mommy Cat followed tiny paw prints into the forest. "Stay close, little paws," she meowed softly. Together, the big cats entered the shadows.
Inside a hollow log during a soft rain, Yoshi crouches near the entrance beckoning as Hiro squeezes past him. Thunder-lit droplets sparkle outside the rounded opening.
Thunder rumbled, and the kittens scattered. "Under here!" cried Yoshi, diving into a hollow log. Hiro squeezed in, Komi followed with Oreo right behind. Rain began to fall softly outside their hiding spot. The kittens snuggled up, feeling a little safer. "I miss Mommy," whispered Komi.
Deep in the darkened forest, Mommy Cat pauses mid-stride with ears perked toward a distant mewl. Daddy Cat follows a step behind beneath swaying night shadows.
Daddy Cat called, "Oreo, where are you?" His deep voice echoed through the trees. Mommy Cat listened carefully, hoping for kitten mews. Suddenly, she heard a faint "Meow!" in the distance. "I hear them!" Mommy Cat exclaimed, dashing forward. Daddy Cat chased after her.
At the rain-damp hollow log entrance, Mommy Cat stretches her head inside with a relieved smile. Oreo, eyes shining, reaches forward to touch her nose as morning light glows on wet bark.
Mommy Cat poked her nose into the hollow log. "My sweet kittens!" she purred with relief. The kittens chirped with joy and rushed to her side. Daddy Cat wrapped everyone in his big fluffy tail. "Let’s go home together now," he said kindly. The family brushed noses, happy and safe.
Along a brightening forest trail after rain, Oreo trots ahead tail high. Daddy Cat carries sleepy Hiro gently by the scruff, sunbeams glittering on fresh puddles and dripping leaves.
Oreo led the way, tail high, while Mommy Cat followed closely. Daddy Cat carried sleepy Hiro gently in his teeth. Komi and Yoshi walked between their parents for safety. The rain stopped, and the forest grew brighter. They spotted their cozy garden gate ahead. "Safe at last!" cheered Komi.
Back in the warm afternoon garden, Oreo watches the butterfly flutter above colorful blossoms. Mommy Cat lounges nearby, eyes half-closed, sunlight casting soft golden patterns across the grass.
"Let’s always stay close," said Yoshi, nuzzling Oreo. Mommy Cat licked each kitten gently. "Adventure is fun, but family is safest together," she said. Daddy Cat nodded, laying down among his kittens. The butterfly fluttered by once more, but this time they watched from the garden. Everyone purred in the warm sunlight.
