Lily visited Grandma's house on Saturday. "I have something special to show you," Grandma said with a smile. She pulled out a large book with old photographs. "This is our family tree." Lily looked at the pictures of people she had never met. "Who are they?" she asked. "These are your great-grandparents," Grandma explained. "They came from far away to start a new life." Lily traced her finger over the old photos, feeling curious and excited.

Grandma pointed to a black and white photo. "This is your great-great-grandmother Rose. She loved to bake bread every morning." Lily leaned closer. "Did she bake cookies too?" "Oh yes! Her chocolate cookies were famous," Grandma laughed. "And this man here is your great-great-grandfather Tom. He built houses with his own hands." Lily's eyes grew wide. "Really? That's amazing!" Grandma nodded. "He even built the house where I grew up." Lily felt proud learning about her ancestors.

"Can we add my picture?" Lily asked. "Of course!" Grandma said. They found a recent photo of Lily at her birthday party. Grandma carefully glued it to the family tree. "Now you're part of the story too," she said warmly. Lily drew a little heart next to her picture. "Someday, will my kids see this?" "Yes, and they'll learn about you, just like you're learning about Rose and Tom," Grandma replied. Lily hugged the book gently.

At home, Lily told Mom about the family tree. "Can we make one too?" she asked eagerly. Mom smiled and got paper and markers. Together they drew a big tree with branches. They wrote names and drew faces. Dad joined in, adding his parents' names. "Look! We're all connected," Lily said, pointing at the branches. "Just like a real tree," Mom agreed. Lily hung their family tree on her bedroom wall, feeling happy knowing where she came from.
