Ms. Chen stood at the front of the classroom with a big smile. "Our school talent show is in two weeks!" she announced. Sam's eyes grew wide. He loved singing at home, but performing on stage? That felt scary. Emma bounced in her seat. "I'm going to dance!" she said excitedly. Sam wanted to join, but his tummy felt funny. At home, Sam told Mom about the show. "I want to sing, but I'm nervous," he said quietly. Mom hugged him. "Being nervous is okay. Let's practice together."

Every day after school, Sam practiced his song. Mom listened and clapped. His little sister danced along, her pigtails bouncing. "You sound great!" she cheered. But Sam still felt worried. What if he forgot the words? What if everyone laughed? On Friday, Ms. Chen noticed Sam looked sad. "What's wrong?" she asked kindly. Sam told her about his fears. "Everyone gets nervous," Ms. Chen said. "Even grown-ups! Your friends will cheer for you. You're braver than you think." Her words made Sam feel a little better.

The talent show day came. Backstage, Sam's hands shook. Emma twirled in her costume nearby. "You'll do great!" she whispered. Sam peeked through the curtain. Mom and his sister waved from their seats. His sister held up a sign that said "Go Sam!" Sam took deep breaths like Mom taught him. Ms. Chen walked by. "Remember, Sam, you've practiced hard. Just have fun!" When his name was called, Sam walked onto the stage. The lights were bright. His heart pounded. Then he saw his family smiling.

Sam closed his eyes and started singing. His voice was small at first, then grew stronger. He remembered all the words! The audience clapped along. Sam forgot to be scared. He was having fun! When he finished, everyone cheered loudly. His sister jumped up and down. Emma gave him a high-five backstage. "You were amazing!" she said. Mom hugged him tight. "I'm so proud of you," she whispered. Sam felt different now—bigger, braver. Ms. Chen smiled. "You found your courage, Sam. How do you feel?" Sam grinned. "I feel strong!"
