Grumpy Crab lived on a large rock by the shoreline. He always told everyone to go away, saying, 'Get off my rock, this is my rock.' Each day, he stayed on his rock and watched the waves. He did not understand why anyone would want to share his special place.

The Lonely Rock

One sunny day, a butterfly gently fluttered close to the rock. A puffin, an admiral, and a seagull also came near to rest. They hoped to enjoy the rock and make friends with Grumpy Crab. But the crab shouted at them, not letting anyone near his rock.

Little Visitors

Soon, a wise mermaid swam closer to the shore. She saw how lonely the rock was and listened to the sad sounds of the animals. The mermaid spoke softly to Grumpy Crab and said he should share his rock and listen to the stories of his visitors. Her kind words made the crab pause and think about his actions.

The Kind Mermaid

Grumpy Crab decided to give sharing a try. He welcomed the butterfly, puffin, admiral, and seagull to rest on his rock. As he listened to their stories, he began to smile and laugh. By sharing and making friends, his rock became a place of joy and warmth.

Mermaid 

A grumpy crab lives on a rock on the shoreline. He does not want to share his rock. He says "get off my rock, this is my rock" to the animals who come near his rock including a butterfly, puffin, admiral, and a seagull. A mermaid comes out of the sea and tells the crab he needs to learn to share and let the animals rest on his rock. The crab ends up listening to the mermaid and he realizes that by sharing his rock, and listening to the stories of the animals, he can make friendships.
