Mia sat at the kitchen table when Mom shared the news. "Grandma is in the hospital. She would love to see you." Mia's tummy felt funny. Hospitals seemed scary with their beeping sounds and bright lights. She hugged Dr Bear tight. "I'm scared," Mia whispered. Mom knelt down and smiled softly. "Dr Bear can come too. Grandma really misses you." Mia looked at her teddy bear's friendly face. "Okay," she said quietly. "We'll be brave together."

The hospital was huge with shiny floors and tall windows. Mia held Mom's hand tightly, clutching Dr Bear in her other arm. A kind nurse smiled at them. "Are you visiting someone special?" she asked. Mia nodded but couldn't find her voice. The elevator made her stomach jump. Long hallways stretched ahead. "Room three-twelve is just around the corner," Mom said gently. Mia took a deep breath. Dr Bear seemed to say, "You can do this!"

Outside Grandma's room, Mia stopped. Her feet felt stuck to the floor. Through the door, she heard a familiar cough. "What if Grandma looks different?" Mia asked. Mom squeezed her hand. "She's still your Grandma who loves you very much." Mia remembered all the cookies they baked together and the stories Grandma told. She thought about how Grandma must feel lonely. Dr Bear's button eyes seemed brave. Mia straightened up. "Grandma needs us," she said firmly.

Mia pushed open the door. Grandma's face lit up like sunshine. "My sweet girl!" Grandma said with a weak but happy smile. Mia rushed to the bedside. "I brought Dr Bear to help you feel better!" She placed the teddy bear next to Grandma. Grandma hugged them both. "This is the best medicine ever," Grandma whispered. Mia felt warm inside. Being brave wasn't about not feeling scared. It was about loving someone enough to try. "I love you, Grandma," Mia said.
