Maya found an old map in her grandmother's attic. It showed a path through the forest to a sparkling waterfall. "I want to explore this!" she said excitedly. Her grandmother smiled. "That map led me on wonderful adventures when I was your age." Maya packed her backpack with snacks, water, and a flashlight. "I'll be careful," she promised. She studied the map carefully, tracing the winding path with her finger. The adventure was about to begin!

Maya entered the forest, following the map's red dotted line. Tall trees swayed in the breeze, making whooshing sounds. "Which way now?" she wondered at a fork in the path. She checked her map and spotted a landmark: three white stones. Maya looked around and found them! "This way!" she cheered. A friendly squirrel chattered from a branch above. "Are you on an adventure too?" Maya giggled. The path grew narrower, but she felt brave and kept going.

Maya reached a wobbly wooden bridge over a bubbling stream. It looked old and creaky. "I can do this," she whispered to herself. She tested the first plank carefully with her foot. It held! Step by step, she crossed slowly, holding the rope railing. The bridge swayed but didn't break. "I did it!" Maya jumped off the other side happily. She could hear the waterfall now, rushing and splashing nearby. Her heart raced with excitement.

Maya pushed through the last bushes and gasped. The waterfall sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight! A rainbow arched through the mist. "It's even more beautiful than the map showed!" she exclaimed. She sat on a smooth rock and ate her snack, enjoying the peaceful sounds. Maya took out her map and drew a star next to the waterfall. "I'll remember this forever," she said proudly. She had tested her courage and found something amazing. The incredible journey was worth every step!
