In grandmother's dusty attic, afternoon light streams through a small window onto stacked trunks. Amirah holds a yellow, crinkled map open, showing it to wide-eyed Grayson who kneels beside an open backpack of water bottles and snacks.
Amirah found an old map in her grandmother's attic. The paper was yellow and crinkled. "Look, Grayson!" she called to her friend. "This shows a path to Rainbow Falls!" Grayson's eyes grew wide. "Can we go there?" he asked excitedly. Amirah studied the map carefully. "It looks tricky, but I think we can do it," she said with determination. They packed water and snacks. "This will be the best adventure ever!" Grayson cheered. Together, they set off down the trail marked on the ancient map.
Inside the twilight forest, twisted trees lean over a narrow path while faint sunbeams filter ahead. Amirah grips Grayson's hand as a friendly squirrel holding an acorn perches on a root, beckoning them forward with its tail.
The forest was dark and full of strange sounds. "What was that noise?" Grayson whispered nervously. Amirah held his hand. "Stay close to me," she said bravely. They heard rustling in the bushes. A friendly squirrel popped out holding an acorn. "He wants to help us!" Grayson laughed. The squirrel chittered and bounded ahead. "Follow him!" Amirah said. They ran after their new guide through twisted trees. Soon they saw sunlight breaking through the branches. "We made it through!" they both shouted happily.
On a windy mountainside at midday, ancient stone steps zigzag upward between jagged rocks. Amirah stands firmly, clutching Grayson's arm as his foot slips off a step, clouds drifting behind them and the valley sprawling far below.
A steep mountain blocked their path. "How will we climb that?" Grayson asked worriedly. Amirah pointed to steps carved in the rock. "Someone made stairs long ago," she said. They climbed carefully, one step at a time. Grayson's foot slipped, but Amirah caught his arm. "I've got you!" she said firmly. "Thank you," Grayson said gratefully. They helped each other climb higher and higher. At the top, they could see everything. "Look! Rainbow Falls is just over there!" Amirah exclaimed, pointing ahead excitedly.
At the base of Rainbow Falls beneath bright noon sun, multicolored mist arches into vivid rainbows over clear pools. Amirah waves the old map triumphantly while Grayson splashes nearby, both laughing in the shimmering spray of the roaring waterfall.
They raced down the other side of the mountain. The sound of rushing water grew louder. Suddenly, they saw it—a magnificent waterfall sparkling with colors. "It's real!" Grayson shouted with joy. Mist created rainbows in the sunlight. Amirah pulled out the old map. "We did it! We really found it!" she said proudly. They splashed in the cool water and laughed. "We made a great team," Grayson said, smiling at his friend. Amirah agreed. "And we were brave together." Their incredible journey was complete!
