Inside a bright castle hallway, Prince Pip stamps his foot beside scattered toy soldiers, yelling toward the tired-looking maid. Sunlight streams through tall windows where a creeping gray mist rolls across the kingdom outside.
Prince Pip raced through the castle halls. "Snacks NOW!" he shouted at the maid. "I want my toys THIS INSTANT!" He never said please or thank you. The maid smiled kindly but looked tired. "Prince Pip, perhaps you could ask more gently?" she suggested. "No! I'm a prince! I get what I want RIGHT NOW!" Pip stamped his foot and zoomed away. The colorful, sunny castle usually felt warm and bright, but today something felt different. Outside the windows, a strange gray mist began to creep across the kingdom.
In the castle kitchen blanketed by thick gray fog, Prince Pip struggles with fog-bound feet while the maid tugs at a gluey door. A tiny brown mouse perches confidently on the windowsill under dim morning light.
The next morning, thick Gray Fog covered everything. The maid tried to open the kitchen door, but the fog was sticky like glue. "What's happening?" Prince Pip cried. He tried to run to his playroom, but his feet got stuck in the fog. "Help! I can't move!" A tiny brown mouse appeared on the windowsill. "Hello, Prince Pip," squeaked the mouse wisely. "This fog grows when people are rude and rush. It shrinks when people are kind and patient. Only the Power of Two can help: Discipline and Manners." Pip's eyes grew wide with surprise.
Inside the castle dining room, Prince Pip sits hands folded, softly asking 'May I please have breakfast?' to the smiling maid. Thin wisps of fading gray fog curl around his chair while a tiny brown mouse watches from the windowsill.
"What are Discipline and Manners?" asked Pip. The wise mouse explained, "Discipline means waiting calmly, even when it's hard. Manners means using kind words." The maid gently added, "Would you like to try, Prince?" Pip took a deep breath. "May I please have breakfast?" he asked softly. A tiny bit of fog disappeared! "Thank you," he said to the maid. More fog cleared! Pip waited patiently for his food instead of grabbing. The fog around his feet melted away. "It's working!" Pip laughed. The mouse nodded. "Keep practicing, young prince."
On a sun-flooded castle balcony at dusk, the maid hugs a beaming Prince Pip, golden light glinting off newly clear skies. Nearby, a tiny brown mouse winks cheerfully from the open window box beside fluttering flower pots.
All day, Prince Pip practiced his new skills. He said "please" and "thank you." He waited his turn. He spoke gently instead of shouting. With each kind word and patient moment, more fog disappeared. By evening, the Gray Fog was completely gone! Warm sunshine flooded the colorful castle again. The maid hugged Pip proudly. "You did it, Prince!" The wise mouse winked from the window. "Remember, your kind words and calm heart are the sunshine that keeps your kingdom happy." Prince Pip smiled. Being patient and polite felt much better than rushing and shouting. The kingdom sparkled brighter than ever before.
