Luna walked into the classroom and saw her favorite bracelet on Nila's desk. "That's mine!" Luna said, her voice shaking. Nila looked confused. "No, my grandma gave this to me yesterday," Nila replied, holding up the shiny blue bracelet. Luna's eyes filled with tears. "But I lost mine yesterday, and it looks exactly the same!" The two friends stared at each other. Luna felt angry and sad. She turned away and sat at her desk alone.

During recess, Luna stayed far away from Nila. She played on the swings by herself. Nila tried to wave at her, but Luna looked the other way. Nila felt her heart hurt. She didn't understand why Luna was so upset. "Do you want to play tag?" Nila called out. Luna shook her head and kept swinging. The playground felt different without them laughing together. Both girls felt lonely and confused.

After school, Luna's mom found the lost bracelet under Luna's bed at home. "Look what I found!" her mom said with a smile. Luna gasped. Her bracelet had been home all along! She felt her cheeks turn red. "Oh no! I was wrong about Nila," Luna whispered. Her stomach felt funny. She had accused her best friend of taking something that was never missing. Luna knew she needed to make things right. She had to talk to Nila tomorrow.

The next morning, Luna ran up to Nila. "I'm so sorry! I found my bracelet at home. You were telling the truth," Luna said quietly. Nila's face brightened. "I was sad you didn't believe me," Nila admitted. Luna nodded. "I should have listened better. I was too upset to think clearly." Nila smiled and gave Luna a hug. "I forgive you! We all make mistakes," Nila said warmly. The two friends held hands and walked to class together, feeling happy again.
