The rain came down, the river rose high,
Poor Milo's house floated gently by.
"Oh no!" cried Milo, "Where will I stay?"
With ears so big, he squeaked, "I'll find my way."
Through the forest, damp and wide,
He took a breath and stepped outside.

In a tree, Milo heard a friendly, "Hi!",
Stan the squirrel caught his worried eye.
"You can climb my tree and join me here,"
But Milo frowned, "It's much too high, I fear."
So down he climbed with a wave and a sigh,
And off he went, giving a try.

Next he met Rango, raccoon so sly,
"Want to see where my kits lie?"
The den was dark and full of sticks,
"Thanks," said Milo, "but it's not quite a fix."
He shook tiny hands, bid Rango goodbye,
And continued along 'neath the bright blue sky.

Carlo the porcupine smiled so wide,
"You can stay with me, I'll show you inside!"
But his house was spiky, full of sharp pine,
"Thank you, dear Carlo, but it won’t be fine."
With gentle laughter and a friendly hug,
Milo wandered on, over moss and tug.

"Oink!" called Minky, in mud so deep,
"Come build a home, right in my heap!"
Milo looked at the puddles, brown and wet,
"A house in mud? Not quite yet."
He waved to Minky, so pink and stout,
And hurried along the winding route.

Olli the owl with feathers so neat,
"Nest up high makes a home so sweet!"
"Thank you," said Milo, "but I prefer ground,"
He looked up high and then looked around.
"Good luck, little friend," Olli called from the sky,
Milo waved and continued nearby.

"Hop in!" called Jumper, with ears pink as rose,
"There’s space in my burrow right near your toes!"
Milo peeked in, but the tunnel felt tight,
He thanked Jumper kindly, stepped back to the light.
With a giggle and wink, Jumper wished him luck,
So Milo moved on, eager and pluck.

"Hiss," smiled Niko, green and bright,
"Coil with me, rest for the night!"
But Milo shook his big round head,
"I need a cozy, not a slithery bed."
He thanked kind Niko, and off he ran,
Across the field, Milo hatched a plan.

Bruno the beagle, spotted and sweet,
Barked, "Follow me! I've friends to meet!"
They ran to a barn, wide and warm,
Harold the horse greeted Milo with charm.
All animals smiled and showed him around,
With joy and laughter, new friends he found.

Milo squeaked, his eyes shining bright,
"This barn feels perfect—what a delight!"
Buster the mouse wiggled in with glee,
"Come, Milo, there’s a spot by me!"
Milo snuggled in his brand new nest,
With all his friends, he felt truly blessed.
