Inside a classroom, Ms. Nancy, a white unicorn with a rainbow mane and wings, smiles at Tobby, a green winged dinosaur, and Steven, a tall colorful furry monster with three eyes and four arms, as she hands them bookmarks.
Ms. Nancy flapped her rainbow wings and smiled at her class. "Who wants to join our reading challenge?" she asked. Tobby the dragon raised his green claw. "I do!" he said. Steven waved all four arms excitedly. "Me too!" Ms. Nancy gave them each a special bookmark. "Read as many books as you can this month. Let the adventure begin!" Tobby grabbed a book about pirates. Steven picked one about space explorers.
On a wooden pirate ship, Tobby the green dinosaur stretches his long neck to spot an island while a friendly pirate captain stands beside him and ocean waves splash around them.
Tobby opened his pirate book and gasped. Suddenly, he was standing on a wooden ship! The ocean waves splashed around him. "Ahoy there, dragon!" called a friendly pirate captain. Tobby helped find treasure using his long neck to spot the island. When he closed the book, he was back in the library. "That was amazing!" Tobby told Steven. "Books take you on real adventures!" He couldn't wait to read another one.
In outer space, Steven the colorful monster floats among stars with his three eyes wide open, bouncing on the moon with his five legs as an alien waves from a silver spaceship.
Steven opened his space book with all four arms. Zoom! He floated among the stars with his three eyes wide open. Colorful planets spun nearby. An alien waved at him from a silver spaceship. Steven used his five legs to bounce on the moon! "This is the best!" he cheered. Back in the library, Steven showed Tobby his bookmark. "I finished three books already!" Tobby laughed. "Me too! Reading is so much fun!"
In the classroom, Ms. Nancy the unicorn with glowing rainbow mane awards gold star stickers to Tobby and Steven, who high-five with a green claw and four colorful arms.
After a month, Ms. Nancy counted the bookmarks. Tobby read fifteen books. Steven read seventeen! "You both did wonderfully," Ms. Nancy said, her rainbow mane glowing. "But the real prize is all the adventures you had." She gave them both gold star stickers. Tobby and Steven high-fived with claws and arms. "Let's keep reading together!" they said. Ms. Nancy smiled. In her classroom, everyone who loves reading is a winner.
