In a sunny meadow, Benny the Bunny leaps over red flowers with a wide grin, ears flying. Simon the Squirrel waves from a rock while Daisy the Duck cheers beside a tiny pond.
Benny the Bunny loved to hop and play, exploring the meadow every single day. He'd bounce through flowers, red and bright, jumping left and right with all his might. Simon the Squirrel would wave hello, watching Benny put on quite a show. Daisy the Duck would quack with cheer, "Benny's the happiest bunny here!" Through sunny fields, he'd run and leap, never stopping, not one peep. Benny loved adventure, through and through—there was so much he wanted to do!
In the sun-drenched meadow at noon, Benny the Bunny sits on dusty grass, fur matted and ears drooping, wiping sweat from his brow. Golden heat waves shimmer around him.
One summer day, the sun shone bright, turning everything warm with golden light. Benny hopped and hopped some more, but soon he felt his body sore. His fur got sticky, his ears felt warm, he'd never felt quite like this before. "Why do I feel so tired today?" Benny wondered in a worried way. His nose began to wiggle slow, his energy seemed so very low. The heat was something new to feel, and Benny didn't know the deal.
Beneath the blazing afternoon sun at the meadow's center, Benny the Bunny slumps against a dried log, whiskers drooping and eyes tired. Parched grass surrounds him, the light harsh and shadowless.
Benny's ears began to droop down low, his little heart was feeling slow. He sat beneath the burning sun, too hot to hop, too tired to run. "I don't feel good, I don't feel right, why can't I play like yesterday's light?" His whiskers drooped, his eyes looked sad, this sticky feeling felt so bad. Poor Benny didn't understand why summer made him feel less grand. He wished he knew just what to do to feel all happy, cool, and new.
On the sun-baked meadow path, Simon the Squirrel kneels next to Benny the Bunny, worried face meeting Benny's exhausted stare. Harsh midday light bleaches the grass around them.
Simon the Squirrel scampered near and saw his friend with eyes of fear. "Benny, buddy, what's the matter? You look sadder than a broken platter!" Benny sighed and wiggled his nose, "I'm hot and sweaty from my head to toes. The sun is bright, the day is warm, I feel all sticky—not my normal form!" Simon nodded, understanding well, he had a helpful thing to tell. "Come with me, I know a way to help you feel better today!"
Under the broad shadow of a towering oak, Benny the Bunny sits on cool earth, eyes brightening as a breeze stirs his fur. Beside him, Simon the Squirrel points up at the leafy canopy filtering late-day sunlight.
Simon led Benny to a tree so tall, its leaves made shadows, cool for all. "When you feel hot, find some shade, that's where coolness can be made!" Benny hopped beneath the leafy green and felt the coolest he'd ever been. His fur felt better, not so hot, shade was such a perfect spot! "Oh, Simon, thank you! What a treat! I don't feel sticky from the heat!" Simon smiled and gave a cheer, "Shade helps bunnies feel less drear!"
Beside a sparkling pond under mid-afternoon sun, Daisy the Duck gently sips cool water while Benny the Bunny leans over the grassy bank to drink, eyes closing in relief. Ripples glimmer and dragonflies dart around them.
Daisy the Duck waddled by the pond, of cool fresh water she was fond. "Hello, Benny! Want to see something that helps both you and me?" She dipped her bill into water clear and sipped it slowly without fear. "When you're hot, take a drink so cool, water is a helpful tool!" Benny hopped close to the pond's edge and took a sip along the ledge. The water felt so fresh and nice, cooling him like melting ice!
On a grassy hill at sunset, Daisy the Duck opens her wings to a refreshing breeze. Benny the Bunny stands beside her, ears fluttering and face beaming amid wind-tossed clover.
Daisy quacked and flapped her wings, "I know another helpful thing! When breezes blow, they feel so great, they help you cool down, never wait!" She led Benny to a hilltop high where gentle breezes floated by. The wind ruffled Benny's ears with care, cooling off his bunny hair. "Oh, Daisy, this feels wonderful indeed! A breezy spot is just what I need!" Daisy smiled and quacked with joy, "Breezes help every girl and boy!"
Within a leafy meadow shade, Benny the Bunny reclines on cool grass, eyes closed and paws resting on his belly. Simon the Squirrel watches gently from a root, sunlight speckling his fur.
Simon returned with a gentle voice, "Benny, friend, you have a choice. When you feel hot and tired, too, resting is the thing to do!" Benny looked at Simon, confused a bit, "But I love playing! I can't just sit!" "Rest helps your body feel strong again, then you can hop with all your friends!" So Benny tried it, lying down, resting softly on the ground. His body thanked him right away—rest made him ready to play!
On the quiet pond bank at dusk, Daisy the Duck demonstrates a deep breath, chest lifted and eyes calm. Facing her, Benny the Bunny copies the motion, inhaling slowly as fireflies wink over still water.
Daisy waddled over with a plan so sweet, "There's one more trick that can't be beat! When you feel hot and all upset, slow breathing is the best one yet!" She showed Benny how to breathe in deep, like taking air you want to keep. Then breathe out slowly, nice and long, like singing a calming song. Benny tried it, in and out, feeling peaceful, without doubt. "This helps me feel so calm inside, like waves upon a gentle tide!"
Under a leafy oak the following morning, Benny the Bunny lounges in shade, sipping from a wooden ladle of pond water. A gentle breeze ruffles his ears, sunbeams streaking through branches around him.
The very next day, the sun shone bright, filling the meadow with warm sunlight. Benny started hopping around with glee, then felt the heat creep over he. But now he knew just what to do! He tried his cooling tricks, all new. First he found some shady ground, the coolest spot that could be found. Then he sipped some water cold and rested like his friends had told. He felt the breeze and breathed in slow—Benny was learning, now he'd know!
In the bright meadow afternoon, Benny the Bunny finishes a playful hop then pauses smiling, fur dry and ears perked. Simon the Squirrel and Daisy the Duck stand nearby clapping and quacking encouragement among blooming daisies.
With all his new tricks, Benny felt great, no longer sad or in a state. He'd hop and play, then rest awhile, always ending with a smile. Simon and Daisy cheered him on, "Look at you, our worries gone! You learned to listen to your body's call, now you can enjoy the summer, after all!" Benny's ears stood up with pride, happiness was deep inside. He wasn't sweaty, sad, or hot—he loved his friends and all they taught!
At sunset in the meadow, Benny the Bunny, Simon the Squirrel, and Daisy the Duck playfully hop and dash across glowing grass. They grin widely, a shady oak, breezy hill, and sparkling pond visible in the background.
Now Benny hops through summer days, cooling down in healthy ways. When he's hot, he knows the trick: shade, water, breeze—he can pick! Simon squirrels around nearby, Daisy quacks beneath the sky. Together they play in the sun, cooling down when they're all done. Benny learned that feeling hot doesn't mean fun time must stop. With friends and tools to help you through, summer's wonderful—yes, it's true!
