Outdoor Monsterville marketplace under soft afternoon light; Auggie crouches behind woolly market carts, his fuzzy blue fur peeking out as he whispers with a shy smile.
In Monsterville lived a tiny, quiet monster named Auggie. He had fuzzy blue fur and two wobbly horns. Auggie hid behind woolly market carts. “It’s cozy here,” he whispered.
Inside his tidy bedroom with a sunlit window, Auggie leans forward clutching the sill as a bright orange ball taps the glass; outside, Lilah stands mid-kick on the cobbled street, surprised grin flashing.
From his window, Auggie watched Fuzzy-Ball. The bright orange ball bounced, boing, boing! A purple monster with sparkly scales, Lilah, kicked it. The ball zipped to Auggie’s window. “Oh,” he gasped, tummy wobbly.
On the stone doorstep outside Auggie’s house in clear daylight, Auggie gently offers the bright orange ball to Lilah; she beams, sparkly scales shimmering, while his wobbly horns tilt hopefully.
Auggie’s horns wiggled with worry. He took a deep breath, held the ball, and stepped outside. “Is this yours?” he whispered to Lilah. Her face lit up. “You found it!”
In a sunny grassy park, Auggie and Lilah laugh as they both kick the bright orange ball at once; their shadows stretch across the lawn beneath a clear blue sky.
“Do you want to play?” Lilah asked. Auggie’s tummy settled; he nodded. “Okay.” They ran, kicked the bright ball, and laughed together. He was still shy, but now he’d found a friend.
