Marin loved swimming at Coral Bay. The water sparkled like diamonds under the bright sun. He put on his goggles and dove beneath the waves. Schools of colorful fish swam past him. He kicked deeper, exploring the rocky bottom. Then something caught his eye. Behind a cluster of seaweed, there was a dark opening in the rocks. It looked like a tunnel. Marin's heart raced with excitement. He swam closer to investigate.

The opening was just big enough for Marin to fit through. He took a deep breath at the surface and dove down again. The tunnel was dark but not too long. Marin could see light at the other end. He kicked his legs hard and swam through. Suddenly he emerged in a magical cave. The walls glowed with a soft blue light. Above him was a pocket of air. Marin surfaced and gasped in amazement.

Marin climbed onto a smooth rock ledge. The cave was like nothing he had ever seen. Tiny creatures on the walls made the blue glow. They looked like fireflies but lived underwater. Stalactites hung from the ceiling like icicles. A small beach of white sand stretched along one side. Marin heard the gentle sound of dripping water. He knew he had discovered something special. He decided to explore every corner of this secret place.

Beyond the sand, Marin found a pool of crystal-clear water. It was so clear he could see straight to the bottom. Colorful pebbles covered the pool floor. Some sparkled like gems in the blue light. Marin dipped his hand in the water. It was surprisingly warm and tingly. He noticed the pool had no exit except the way he came. This cave was a complete secret from the world above.

On the far wall, Marin spotted unusual markings. They looked like drawings made long ago. One showed a boat and waves. Another looked like a fish with a crown. There was a sun and a moon together. Marin wondered who made these pictures. Were they made by kids like him? Or by ancient explorers? He traced the drawings with his finger. The stone felt smooth and cold beneath his touch.

Marin noticed another tunnel at the back of the cave. This one was smaller and went upward. He decided to be brave and explore it. The passage was tight, and he had to wiggle through. His heart pounded as he squeezed forward. Just when he thought he was stuck, the tunnel opened up. Marin found himself in another chamber. This one had an opening in the ceiling where sunlight streamed through.

The new chamber was incredible. Plants grew from cracks in the rocks above. Their roots dangled down toward the water. Butterflies fluttered through the sunbeam. A small waterfall trickled down one wall. Marin realized this place was like a secret garden. The outside world was just above him, but nobody knew this existed. He felt like an explorer discovering a lost world. He wished he could stay here forever.

Marin knew he needed to remember how to get back. He found a flat rock and a sharp stone. Carefully, he scratched a simple map onto the rock. He drew the tunnel entrance, the first glowing cave, and the crystal pool. Then he added the narrow passage and this sunny chamber. He put an X where he had entered from Coral Bay. Now he could find his way back anytime. His very own treasure map!

Marin realized he had been gone a long time. His parents might be worried. He took one last look at the beautiful secret garden. He promised himself he would come back soon. Carefully, he squeezed back through the narrow tunnel. He swam across the crystal pool and past the glowing walls. The blue light seemed to wave goodbye. Marin reached the entrance tunnel and took a deep breath. Then he swam toward the light.

Marin popped up at Coral Bay, right where he started. His parents were reading books on the beach. They smiled and waved at him. He waved back, his heart still racing from his adventure. Nobody else knew about the amazing caves he had just explored. It was his special secret. Marin decided he would keep the map safe. He would return to explore more another day.

That evening, Marin thought about his discovery. Should he tell someone? He decided to tell only his best friend. Tomorrow they could explore the caves together. He imagined showing his friend the glowing walls. They could search for more tunnels and chambers. Maybe they would find even more markings on the walls. Adventures were better when shared with friends. Marin could hardly wait for tomorrow to come. He fell asleep dreaming of underwater caves.

The next morning, Marin packed a waterproof bag. He put in two flashlights and some snacks. He carefully placed his map inside too. His friend was coming to the beach at noon. Together they would dive into the secret world below. Marin felt proud to share his discovery. He knew this was just the beginning. The caves probably held many more secrets. Their summer adventure was about to get even better. Marin grinned as he headed to Coral Bay.
