A three-headed dragon swooped down from the mountains. His scales sparkled in the sunlight. The dragon was blind, but he could sense heat from everything around him. The townspeople gasped and pointed at the sky. Young warrior Kai grabbed his wooden sword. "I will protect our town!" he shouted bravely. The dragon landed in the town square with a thunderous boom. His three heads looked different directions. "I need the blue crystals," the dragon rumbled.

Kai stared at the amazing dragon. The left head could breathe fire that danced in the air. The middle head breathed water in powerful streams. The right head breathed wind that whooshed and swirled. "Stay back!" Kai warned the townspeople. The dragon's heads moved together, sensing the warmth of the crowd. "I must have the crystals from your tower," said the fire-breathing head. "Please understand," added the water-breathing head. Kai raised his sword higher.

Kai ran to the crystal tower. Blue crystals glowed inside, giving light to the whole town. "You cannot take them!" Kai shouted up at the dragon. The dragon's heads swayed, following Kai's body heat. "I do not wish to fight you, young one," the middle head said gently. But Kai would not move. He planted his feet firmly. The fire head breathed a small flame warning. Kai dodged quickly. "I will not let you harm my town!"

The dragon stepped toward the tower. Kai swung his wooden sword bravely. The wind head blew a gust that pushed Kai back. He tumbled but jumped up again. The water head sprayed a stream. Kai rolled sideways to avoid it. "You are brave, little warrior," said the fire head. Steam rose from puddles on the ground. Kai's heart pounded. He charged forward again. The dragon seemed too powerful to stop.

"Help Kai!" someone yelled. Townspeople ran out with brooms, rakes, and pots. They banged and shouted at the dragon. The dragon's heads turned toward all the new heat sources. "There are so many of you," the water head observed. A baker threw flour that poofed in the air. A farmer waved a pitchfork. Children rang bells loudly. Together they surrounded the dragon. Kai felt hopeful. "Thank you, everyone!" he called out.

The dragon's three heads took deep breaths together. Fire, water, and wind swirled around him in a spectacular display. The townspeople stumbled backward nervously. "Maybe we should run!" the baker cried. One by one, people scattered to safety. Soon only Kai remained again. He felt scared but stood firm. The dragon moved past him toward the tower. His large claws gripped the crystal case. Kai's shoulders slumped in defeat.

The dragon carefully took the blue crystals in his gentle claws. "I am sorry, young warrior," the middle head said softly. Kai watched sadly as the glowing crystals left the tower. The town would be dark without them. The dragon spread his enormous wings. With powerful flaps, he lifted into the air. Kai and the townspeople watched him fly toward the distant mountains. "What will we do now?" someone asked. Everyone felt worried and confused.

The dragon flew to his cave high in the mountains. Inside was a huge, comfortable bed with soft pillows. He placed the crystals on a stone table. "Now I can build it," said the fire head happily. The dragon's claws worked carefully. He connected crystals with special rocks and metals. Sparks flew as he breathed fire to weld pieces together. Water cooled the hot metal. Wind cleared away smoke. Something amazing was taking shape.

After working all night, the dragon finished. Before him sat a small, humming machine. Blue light pulsed gently inside it. "The secret weapon is complete!" announced the wind head proudly. The fire head smiled widely. "The town will love this gift," said the water head warmly. The dragon carefully lifted the machine. It was a special reactor that made clean energy. He tucked it safely under his wing. Then he flew back down the mountain.

Morning came and the dragon appeared in the sky again. Townspeople gasped and hid. Kai stepped forward with his sword ready. "I have returned!" the dragon called. He landed gently in the square. In his claws was the mysterious glowing machine. "I am not your enemy," the middle head explained. "I built something wonderful for you," added the fire head. Kai lowered his sword slowly. "What is it?" he asked curiously.

The dragon set down the reactor carefully. "This machine makes free, clean energy forever," explained the water head. The fire head continued, "It will light your homes and power your tools." The wind head added, "You will never need to worry about energy again!" The mayor stepped forward to examine it. Blue light glowed warmly. "This is amazing!" she exclaimed. Kai's eyes grew wide. "You helped us?" he asked. "I only wanted to help," the dragon said kindly.

The townspeople cheered and danced with joy. "We are so sorry we fought you!" Kai said, bowing respectfully. The dragon's three heads smiled. "You were protecting your home. That was brave," said the middle head. The mayor spoke up, "Would you stay and protect our town?" The dragon's eyes sparkled. "I would be honored," he replied happily. From that day on, the three-headed dragon lived near the town. Everyone was safe, happy, and had endless clean energy. Kai and the dragon became best friends.
