In a cluttered living room at midday, Tommy the Cat Wizard stands atop a stack of books, wearing a crooked pointy hat and brandishing a long stick like a wand, his magical blue whiskers gleaming in the sunlight.
Once there was a cat named Tommy. He was a tabby cat with something special—magical blue whiskers! Tommy loved magic more than anything. He watched wizards in books and on TV. 'I want to be a cat wizard!' he said. Tommy found a pointy hat and a long stick. He waved the stick around. 'I'm going to learn real magic!' he declared.
Inside the cramped kitchen laboratory at dusk, Tommy the Cat Wizard kneels beside a bubbling pot as thick purple smoke billows to the ceiling. Green goo splatters his fur while singed blue whiskers spark under a hanging light.
Tommy tried his first spell. He stirred a pot and said funny words. KABOOM! Purple smoke filled the room. He tried again with different words. KABOOM! His whiskers got singed. 'Ouch!' Tommy cried. He mixed a potion next. KABOOM! The pot exploded. Tommy was covered in green goo. 'This is harder than I thought,' he sighed. But Tommy wouldn't give up.
At night in the attic workshop, Tommy the Cat Wizard drops a plucked blue whisker into a cauldron. Rainbow sparkles whirl around him, lighting the wooden beams as he lifts a shiny-leaf-wrapped wand in triumph.
One day, Tommy had an idea. He looked at his magical blue whiskers. 'Maybe these can help!' he said. Tommy found a stick and wrapped a shiny leaf around it. He plucked one blue whisker and dropped it in his cauldron. 'Billy bubbly blue, I want you!' he chanted. Sparkles filled the air! The spell worked! 'I can do magic with my imagination!' Tommy cheered.
Inside Tommy's candle-lit hallway, an angry gray wolf with large ears stands in the smashed doorway, hind leg still raised from the kick. Tommy the Cat Wizard flies backward mid-air, hat spinning, as wood splinters scatter across the floor.
One mile away lived Tiger, a wolf with super-hearing. Every time Tommy's spells went KABOOM, Tiger's ears rang like bells. 'ENOUGH!' Tiger howled. His ears hurt so much! Tiger marched toward Tommy's house. He was very angry. BANG! Tiger kicked the door open. Before Tommy could say hello, Tiger kicked him hard. Tommy went flying through the air! 'Whooooaaa!' Tommy yelled.
High above the neighborhood on a cloudy afternoon, Tommy the Cat Wizard somersaults helplessly through the air. Through an open upstairs window below, his witch-cat sister lies pale in bed as blue bubbles drift from her ears.
As Tommy tumbled through the sky, he saw something scary. His sister Belle was sick in her room! She was a witch, but now she had the Ka bluey ka boob la boo ba. Blue bubbles popped out of her ears. 'Help me, Tommy!' Belle called weakly. Tommy had to save her! But how? He was still flying through the air. He needed a plan fast!
Inside the twilight bedroom, Tommy the Cat Wizard thrusts his wand toward the footboard. The bed beneath his witch-cat sister grows wooden fins and rises past the open window, curtains billowing in the warm orange glow.
Tommy pulled out his wand. He thought hard with his imagination. 'Billy bubbly blue! Bed, get up and fly! Save Belle and reach the sky!' he shouted. Belle's bed grew wooden fins! It lifted off the ground with Belle on it. The bed zoomed out the window. 'Yes!' Tommy cheered. But then the bed started acting strange. It turned toward the river. Oh no!
Over a moonlit river, the finned bed carrying his witch-cat sister plunges nose-first toward the dark water. On the grassy bank, Tommy the Cat Wizard dodges as an angry gray wolf with large ears springs at him, teeth bared.
The bed smelled fish in the river. It wanted to eat! 'No, bed! Wrong way!' Tommy yelled. But the bed didn't listen. It dove toward the water with Belle holding on tight. More blue bubbles popped from her ears. Tommy chased after them. Just then, Tiger appeared again! The angry wolf pounced at Tommy. 'I need Plan B!' Tommy thought quickly.
Beneath gray afternoon clouds, Tommy the Cat Wizard points skyward from a dirt path beside the river. Scalding golden chicken nuggets pour down, piling around an angry gray wolf with large ears who crouches, paws over head.
Tommy pointed his wand at the clouds. He used his imagination again. 'Crunchy, munchy, golden and round, rain these nuggets on the ground!' Hot chicken nuggets fell from the sky! They pelted Tiger on the head. 'Ow! Ow! Ow!' Tiger yelped. More and more nuggets fell. Soon Tiger was buried in a mountain of food. 'Mmm, these are good,' Tiger mumbled, eating instead of chasing.
Just above the choppy river at dawn, Tommy the Cat Wizard clings to the headboard of the misbehaving finned bed. His glowing blue whiskers flare while his witch-cat sister lies weakly behind him, water spray misting their fur.
Tommy jumped onto the diving bed. 'Stop! No fish!' he shouted. He grabbed the headboard with his paws. The bed kept diving toward the cold river water. Belle let out a weak bubble. She was getting worse! Tommy had to think of something bigger. Something more powerful. The water was getting closer and closer. His whiskers glowed bright blue. Time for the biggest spell ever!
High in the bright morning sky, the finned bed soars upward, bathed in golden sunlight. Tommy the Cat Wizard kneels beside his witch-cat sister, guiding the wand while warm rays halt the blue bubbles around her face.
Tommy gripped his wand tight. He imagined warm, healing sunlight. 'Billy bubbly blue, take us where we need to go!' The bed suddenly turned upward! It flew high into the sky, toward the bright sun. The warm light touched Belle's face. The blue bubbles stopped popping. 'It's working!' Tommy cried. Belle smiled. She felt better already! The sunlight was curing her!
Above sunlit rooftops in late afternoon, the finned bed drifts gently while his witch-cat sister hugs Tommy the Cat Wizard. Far below, an angry gray wolf with large ears stands atop a mound of chicken nuggets, waving apologetically.
The bed floated gently in the sunshine. Belle sat up and stretched. All the blue bubbles were gone! 'Thank you, Tommy!' she said, hugging her brother. 'You saved me with your magic!' Tommy's blue whiskers sparkled. 'I used my imagination!' he said proudly. The bed slowly flew them home. Below, they saw Tiger still eating nuggets. He waved up at them. 'Sorry I kicked you!' he called.
On a sunny morning in Tommy's garden, Tommy the Cat Wizard and his witch-cat sister stand proudly atop the stationary finned bed. An angry gray wolf with large ears grins nearby as assorted animals watch and whisper.
Tommy and Belle landed safely at home. Belle was completely cured! News spread about Tommy's amazing magic. 'He made a bed fly!' animals whispered. 'He made chicken nuggets rain from the sky!' Tommy became famous. He was the first-ever flying cat wizard! Tommy kept practicing his imagination spells. And he always saved one blue whisker for emergencies. Tiger became his friend and never complained about kabooms again.
