High above the clouds, Twinkle the star zoomed between her friends. "Watch this!" she called, spinning in circles. But Twinkle spun too fast and lost her balance. Down, down, down she tumbled through the night sky. Snow swirled around her as she landed with a soft thump in a pine tree. "Oh no!" Twinkle whispered. "Where am I?" She looked around at the strange snowy town below. The sky seemed so far away now.

Evan stared out his bedroom window at the falling snow. Everything looked different in Pineberry. No friends. No familiar houses. Just white emptiness. "I miss home," he whispered sadly. His mom had promised Christmas would feel special here, but Evan didn't believe it. Suddenly, something golden flickered in the pine tree outside. Evan pressed his nose to the cold glass. Was that a light? It twinkled and glowed, calling to him.

Evan bundled up in his warmest coat and crept outside. The golden light grew brighter as he approached the pine tree. "Hello?" he called softly. "Hello down there!" answered a cheerful voice. Evan gasped. A bright yellow star with a cute smiling face sat on a snowy branch! "I'm Twinkle," the star said. "I fell from the sky!" Evan's eyes grew wide with wonder. "You're real!" "Very real," Twinkle giggled. "And I need help!"

"I was playing with my star friends," Twinkle explained, her face drooping sadly. "I spun too fast and fell all the way down here." Evan climbed up and gently lifted Twinkle from the branch. She was warm and soft, like holding sunshine. "How do you get back?" Evan asked. Twinkle pointed to the tallest peak in the distance. "See Hollyberry Hill? If I reach the top, I can jump back to the sky!" Evan nodded. "I'll help you!"

Back in Evan's room, they looked at a map. "Hollyberry Hill is far," Evan said, tracing the path with his finger. "We'll need to cross the town square, go through the woods, and climb up." Twinkle's glow dimmed a little. "That sounds hard." "We can do it together," Evan said, surprising himself with his bravery. Twinkle smiled brightly. "You're a good friend, Evan!" For the first time since moving, Evan smiled too.

The next morning, Evan tucked Twinkle into his backpack, leaving the top open so she could peek out. The town square bustled with people decorating for Christmas. Bright lights hung everywhere. "So many lights!" Twinkle whispered excitedly. "But none as bright as you," Evan whispered back. Twinkle giggled, making his backpack glow softly. People smiled as Evan passed, though they didn't know why his backpack sparkled. Evan felt less lonely with Twinkle beside him.

The path into the woods was covered with deep snow. Evan's boots crunched with each step. Tall pine trees surrounded them, creating shadows in the afternoon light. "Is it much farther?" Twinkle asked, bouncing in the backpack. "We're halfway there," Evan panted, his breath making little clouds. A rabbit hopped across their path, startling them both. Twinkle giggled at Evan's surprised face. Despite the cold and the long walk, Evan was having fun.

Hollyberry Hill rose before them, steep and snowy. "That's really high," Evan said nervously. "You can do it!" Twinkle encouraged, glowing brighter. Evan took a deep breath and started climbing. His hands were cold, and his legs were tired, but he kept going. Twinkle sang a cheerful star song to keep his spirits up. Step by step, they climbed higher. The town below grew smaller. "We're almost there!" Twinkle cheered. Evan pushed on with new energy.

Finally, they reached the top of Hollyberry Hill! Evan collapsed in the snow, breathing hard but smiling. "We made it!" he laughed. Twinkle floated out of the backpack, spinning with joy. The sky stretched above them, dark and full of stars. "My home!" Twinkle cried happily. But then her glow dimmed. She looked at Evan sadly. "I don't want to say goodbye." Evan's smile faded too. "I don't want you to go either."

"Wait," Twinkle said, glowing bright again. "Before I go, let me give you something." She touched Evan's hand gently, and warm golden light spread through him. "Whenever you feel lonely, look up at the stars. I'll twinkle extra bright for you!" Evan felt the magic warm his heart. "And whenever I see you, I'll remember this adventure," he said. "You're my first friend in Pineberry!" "Best friends forever," Twinkle promised. "Across earth and sky!"

Twinkle rose into the air, spinning gracefully. "Thank you, Evan!" she called. She climbed higher and higher, her light growing brighter. Evan watched as she soared up, up, up into the night sky. With a final brilliant flash, Twinkle zoomed back to her place among the stars. She winked down at Evan, twinkling more brightly than any other star. Evan waved and waved. His heart felt full of happiness instead of loneliness.

Evan walked home under the starry sky, no longer feeling alone. Pineberry didn't seem strange anymore—it felt like an adventure waiting to happen. On Christmas morning, Evan found a golden star ornament on his tree that glowed softly. He smiled, knowing Twinkle had left him one more gift. That night, he told his mom about his new friend in the sky. She smiled and hugged him. Evan looked out his window at the brightest star and whispered, "Merry Christmas, Twinkle!"
