Bunny stands in a grassy clearing in daytime light, waving his paw and smiling with his large eyes and brown-white fur.
This is Bunny. He has soft brown and white fur. He has very big eyes. "Hello, Bunny!" Bunny waves his paw. He is ready to play.
In the same clearing, Bunny leaps with paws clapping as he spots a big red ball lying on the grass in daylight.
Look! Bunny sees a gift. It is a big, red ball. Bunny claps his paws. He jumps high in the air. "I love my ball!" Bunny feels happy.
In the grassy clearing, Bunny grins widely while his tail wiggles and he bounces the red ball, frozen mid-air between his paws under daylight.
Bunny bounces the ball. Boing! It goes up and down. His tail wiggles. A big smile is on his face. Being happy feels warm like sunshine.
On a sloping hillside, Bunny stands at the crest watching the red ball roll rapidly into a deep shadowy hole at the hill’s base.
Oh dear. The ball rolls down a hill. It goes very fast. It falls into a deep hole. The ball is lost.
In the dim light beside the hole, Bunny kneels, leaning forward with tear-streaked cheeks and outstretched paw unable to touch the lost red ball below.
Bunny looks in the hole. It is too dark. He cannot reach his ball. Bunny begins to cry. Tears fall on his cheeks. He feels sad.
Beside the hole on the hillside, Chip the squirrel, a small grey squirrel with a fluffy tail, hands the recovered red ball to Bunny who wipes tears, relief on both faces under soft daylight.
Chip the squirrel sees the ball. He helps Bunny get it out. "Here you go!" says Chip. Bunny sniffs and wipes his eyes. "Thank you, Chip."
In the grassy clearing, Bunny clutches the red ball to his chest while Chip the squirrel, a small grey squirrel with a fluffy tail, reaches toward it, playful tension on their faces in afternoon light.
They start to play tag. "My turn with the ball!" says Chip. Bunny holds the ball tight. "No, mine!" Bunny yells. He does not want to share.
On the same clearing, Bunny stands alone, arms crossed and one big foot stamping the ground, eyebrows furrowed with anger, the red ball lying beside him in bright daylight.
Bunny crosses his arms. He stomps his big foot. Thump! His face feels hot. His tummy feels tight. Bunny feels very angry.
At the edge of the clearing, Chip the squirrel, a small grey squirrel with a fluffy tail, waits calmly while Bunny extends the red ball toward him, relaxed expression replacing earlier anger under golden light.
Chip waits quietly. Bunny takes a deep breath. Whoosh. The tight feeling goes away. "Here," Bunny says. He shares the red ball.
Inside Bunny’s bedroom at night, moonlight filters through a window while Bunny sits upright in bed, ears perked, staring toward the rattling window as wind howls outside.
It is night time now. Bunny is in his bed. The wind howls outside. Whooo! It is a very loud noise. Bunny freezes still.
Same bedroom, dim moonlight, Bunny crouches beneath a pillow with paws covering his wide eyes, blanket rumpled and small tremors visible in his body.
Bunny covers his eyes. His heart goes boom, boom. He hides under the pillow. He shakes a little bit. Bunny feels scared.
In the softly lit bedroom, Mama Bunny, a larger white and brown rabbit wearing a pink nightgown, sits on the bed hugging Bunny closely while moonlight glows through the window, both faces peaceful.
Mama Bunny gives him a hug. "It is okay," she whispers. Bunny sighs happily. All big feelings are okay. He feels safe now. Goodnight, Bunny.
