Belle giggled with her sisters Madilynn and Delilah, wiggling on her chair at the kitchen table. Baby Mackenzie clapped from her high chair. "Belle, sit still!" said Madilynn. But Belle leaned too far back—CRASH! She tumbled to the floor, her leg twisting beneath her. "Ow!" Belle cried. Mommy rushed in, scooping her up. "Let's see, sweetheart," Mommy said gently, checking Belle's leg. It looked swollen and sore. "We need to go to the doctor," Mommy said softly, holding Belle close.

Mommy grabbed Belle's favorite stuffed Doggy from her bed. "He can keep you brave," Mommy said, tucking Doggy into Belle's arms. Belle hugged Doggy tight, tears in her eyes. "Will it hurt, Mommy?" she asked. "I don't know, but God is with us, and so is Doggy," Mommy said. Madilynn kissed Belle's forehead. "You're brave, Belle!" Delilah waved. Mommy carried Belle to the car, Doggy squished between them. Belle whispered a tiny prayer as they drove toward the hospital.

The hospital was bright and busy. Belle held Doggy close as Mommy carried her inside. A kind doctor with short brown hair smiled at them. "Hello, Belle! I'm here to help you," he said warmly. Belle peeked at her hurt leg and squeezed Doggy tighter. "Is he your friend?" the doctor asked, pointing at Doggy. Belle nodded shyly. "He's very brave, just like you," the doctor said. Belle managed a small smile, feeling a little less scared already.

The doctor gently examined Belle's leg. "You've hurt your leg pretty badly," he said kindly. "We need to fix it with a small surgery." Belle's eyes went wide. "Surgery?" she whispered, hugging Doggy. Mommy took her hand. "It will help you get better, Belle." "God will be with you, and Doggy too." Belle looked at Doggy's stitched smile and felt a tiny bit braver. "Okay," she said softly. "I can be brave."

Before the surgery, Belle sat on the hospital bed, swinging her good leg. She hugged Doggy and closed her eyes. "Dear God, please help me be brave," she whispered. Mommy squeezed her hand. "You already are, Belle." A nurse came to check her heartbeat and smiled. "You're doing great!" Belle took a deep breath. She wasn't alone—Doggy was tucked in her arms, and she could feel God close by, giving her courage.

The doctor came back with a soft blue blanket. "Time to get you ready, brave girl," he said. Belle clutched Doggy as they wheeled her bed down the hallway. Lights zoomed by above her. "Will Doggy come too?" she asked. "Of course," the doctor smiled, tucking Doggy beside her. Mommy walked alongside, humming a gentle song. Belle felt her heart pound, but she remembered her prayer. "I am brave," she whispered, holding tight to Doggy's paw.

In the surgery room, everything looked shiny and new. "You'll take a special nap," the doctor explained. Belle nodded, hugging Doggy close as the nurse placed a soft mask near her face. "Count with me," the doctor said. "One... two..." Belle's eyes grew heavy. She thought of Mommy's smile and Doggy's floppy ears. Before she knew it, she drifted into a peaceful sleep, safe and unafraid, knowing God was watching over her the whole time.

When Belle opened her eyes, she was in a cozy hospital room. Doggy sat right beside her pillow. "Mommy?" she called softly. "I'm here, sweetheart," Mommy said, taking her hand. Belle looked down at her leg, now wrapped in a soft cast. "Did I do it? Was I brave?" she asked. "You were amazing," Mommy smiled. The doctor peeked in. "Great job, Belle the Brave!" Belle grinned, hugging Doggy tightly, proud of herself.

Nighttime came, and the hospital room grew dark and quiet. Belle shivered, unsure of the strange beeping sounds. "Mommy, I'm scared," she whispered. Mommy sat beside her bed. "It's okay to feel scared, Belle." "God is here, and so am I." Belle hugged Doggy tight. "Doggy, protect me," she whispered. Mommy sang a soft lullaby. Slowly, Belle's fear melted away, replaced by a warm, peaceful feeling as she snuggled deeper into her blanket.

Sunlight peeked through the curtains. The doctor came in smiling. "How's my bravest patient today?" he asked. Belle stretched and looked at her leg. "It doesn't hurt as much!" she said happily. The doctor checked her cast carefully. "You did wonderfully, Belle." "You should be very proud." Belle beamed, hugging Doggy. "I prayed, and I wasn't alone," she said. The doctor nodded kindly. "That's exactly right, Belle." "Being brave means knowing you're never alone."

"You get to go home today!" Mommy announced. Belle clapped, though she winced a little. The doctor helped adjust her crutches. "Take it easy, brave girl," he said with a smile. Belle hugged Doggy and thanked the doctor. As Mommy wheeled her outside, sunlight warmed Belle's face. She thought about everything—the fall, the surgery, the scary night—and realized she had made it through, stronger and more courageous than before.

At home, Madilynn, Delilah, and baby Mackenzie waited eagerly. "Belle!" Delilah shouted, hugging her carefully. Madilynn admired her cast. "You're so brave!" Belle smiled, holding Doggy close. "I wasn't alone," she said. "God and Doggy helped me." Mommy kissed her head. "You truly are Belle the Bravest." Belle giggled, feeling proud and thankful. From now on, whenever she felt scared, she would remember: with God, family, and Doggy by her side, she could be brave too.
