Carmelina was so excited about starting kindergarten. She had attended an ice-cream social, and it made her feel less nervous. Her outfit and everything were ready for the first day. As she brushed her teeth before bed, she suddenly felt something strange. A tooth had fallen out, and Carmelina was scared she wouldn't make any friends now.

The next morning, Carmelina walked to the bus stop with her mum. 'Don't worry, sweetheart,' Mum Mum said. 'Everyone loses teeth, and it will grow back soon.' On the bus, Carmelina stayed quiet so no one would see her missing tooth. She hoped nothing else would go wrong.

Carmelina had a few mishaps before she got to class. She tripped on her shoelace and dropped her lunchbox. An older student named Emma saw her and helped her up. 'Don't worry, it happens to everyone,' Emma said kindly. Carmelina felt a bit better as she finally reached her classroom and met Miss Love, her teacher.

In class, Carmelina finally broke down and started crying. 'I lost my tooth, and I was so scared no one would like me,' she said. Her classmates gathered around, showing their own missing teeth. Carmelina was shocked to see almost everyone had lost a tooth too. The rest of her day was wonderful, and she made lots of friends. She couldn't wait to get home and tell Mum Mum everything that happened.
