Balboa Park's morning sun warms Gerry as she reaches from her stroller toward orange blooms. Emma points and smiles while Quinn stands behind, making a funny bird sound that sends Gerry into hiccuping giggles.
The sun peeked over Balboa Park as Gerry wiggled in her stroller. "Look at the pretty flowers!" said Emma, pointing to orange blooms. Gerry giggled and reached out her tiny hand. Quinn made a funny bird sound, and Gerry laughed so hard she hiccupped. "This little explorer is ready for anything," Quinn said, smiling. Together they strolled past fountains and towers, Gerry's eyes wide with wonder at every new sight in her great big sunny day.
At Torrey Pines, the ocean breeze ruffle's Gerry's hair as Emma holds her close. Quinn gestures toward the cliffs below, and Gerry claps at the crashing waves under a pastel sunset.
At Torrey Pines, the wind tickled Gerry's cheeks. "Feel that ocean breeze?" Emma asked, holding her close. Quinn pointed to the cliffs below. "Someday you'll hike all the way down there!" Gerry squealed and clapped her hands at the crashing waves. They walked along Sunset Cliffs next, watching orange and pink colors paint the sky. "This is the best sunset ever," Quinn whispered, and Gerry agreed with a happy little coo.
Inside the San Diego Zoo, a tall giraffe leans down, its nose nearly touching Gerry's outstretched fingers. She giggles, kicking her feet, while Emma laughs and Quinn watches fondly.
At SeaWorld, Gerry pointed at a splashing dolphin. "Wow!" she squealed, kicking her feet with joy. At the Zoo, a giraffe leaned down, and Gerry reached up giggling. Emma laughed, "He likes you too!" At Birch Aquarium, colorful fish swam past the glass. "Blue, green, and orange!" Quinn said, naming colors for Gerry. She pressed her hand to the glass, eyes sparkling. What an exciting, splashy, scaly adventure this sunny day had become!
In the cozy living room, Gerry yawns in Quinn's arms as he carries her to her crib. She reaches for her blanket, now wearing cozy pink rabbit pajamas, while Emma kisses her forehead.
After all the adventures, Gerry yawned big in her car seat. "Tired explorer," Quinn said softly, driving home. Emma smiled, "We saw so much today, didn't we?" When they arrived, their cozy house glowed warm and welcoming. Gerry reached for her favorite blanket as Quinn tucked her in. "San Diego has so many adventures," Emma whispered, kissing her forehead, "but home with mommy and daddy is always the very best place of all."
