Myles bounced out of bed at Grandma Rose's house. Today was Family Time day! He pulled on his favorite blue shirt and grabbed his football. "Ms. Simone will be here soon," Grandma Rose said, smiling. Myles peeked out the window, watching for her car. He loved these visits with his dad. A car pulled up, and Myles grinned wide. "She's here!" he shouted, running to grab his shoes by the door.

Ms. Simone stepped out, her short black hair neat and her smile bright. "Good morning, Myles! Are you ready for a fun day?" she asked. "Yes!" Myles said, hugging his football tight. Grandma Rose waved from the porch. "Have fun, sweet boy!" Myles buckled into the car seat. "Is Dad waiting?" he asked eagerly. Ms. Simone nodded kindly. "He sure is, and he brought a surprise for you today."

The car hummed along the road. Myles looked out the window, watching trees zoom by. "What kind of surprise?" he asked. Ms. Simone laughed softly. "You'll have to wait and see!" Myles giggled, bouncing his football on his knee. "I hope it's a new game," he said. Ms. Simone glanced back. "Whatever it is, I know your dad is excited to see you." Myles smiled, feeling happy inside.

They pulled into the park. Damon stood waving, his short black hair neat under a cap. "Myles!" he called, arms wide open. Myles ran fast and hugged him tight. "Dad, I missed you!" "I missed you too, buddy," Damon said warmly. He held up a shiny new football. "Surprise! Ready to play?" Myles's eyes lit up. "Yes! Let's go!" Ms. Simone smiled, watching them walk to the field together.

Damon tossed the football high. Myles jumped and caught it. "Nice catch!" Damon cheered. They ran across the grass, laughing and throwing the ball back and forth. "Try to catch this one, Dad!" Myles shouted, throwing his best spiral yet. Damon caught it and spun around. "You're getting really good!" he said proudly. Myles beamed, feeling like the happiest kid at the park that sunny afternoon.

After football, Damon suggested a game of tag. "Bet you can't catch me!" he teased, running away. Myles chased him, giggling loudly. "I'm gonna get you!" he yelled. They zigzagged around a big oak tree until Myles finally tagged him. "Got you!" Myles shouted proudly. Damon scooped him up and spun him around. "You're too fast for me now," he laughed, both of them out of breath and smiling.

They sat on a blanket under a shady tree. Damon opened a basket with sandwiches, apples, and juice boxes. "I made your favorite," he said, handing Myles a peanut butter sandwich. "Thanks, Dad!" Myles said, taking a big bite. They talked about school and Myles's favorite cartoons. "Tell me more," Damon said, listening closely. Myles smiled, happy to share every little detail with his dad.

After lunch, Myles looked around. "Dad, where's my new football?" It was gone! They searched near the blanket and under the tree. "Did we leave it by the swings?" Damon asked. Myles's heart sank a little. "I hope we find it." Damon patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, buddy. We'll look together." They walked back toward the playground, checking every spot along the way.

Near the swings, Myles spotted something round in the bushes. "There it is!" he shouted happily. Damon jogged over and picked it up. "Good eye, Myles!" he said, ruffling his son's hair. Myles hugged the football tight. "I thought we lost it forever." Damon smiled. "See? Teamwork helped us find it." They high-fived, both relieved and ready for more fun before the day ended.

They sat together on a bench, watching birds fly by. "I love our time together," Myles said softly. Damon put an arm around him. "Me too, buddy. Even when we're apart, I'm always thinking of you." Myles leaned into his dad's side. "I'll remember today forever." Damon smiled gently. "That's the important part, Myles. Love stays strong, no matter where we live."

Ms. Simone walked over with a gentle smile. "It's almost time to go, Myles." Myles hugged his dad tightly. "I don't want to leave yet." Damon knelt down. "I know, buddy, but we'll see each other again soon." He handed Myles the football. "Keep this until next time." Myles nodded, holding it close. "I will, Dad. I love you." "I love you too," Damon said softly.

Back at Grandma Rose's house, Myles ran inside excitedly. "Grandma, I caught the football, and we found it after it got lost!" Grandma Rose laughed. "Sounds like a wonderful day!" Myles hugged his football tight. "Dad said we'll see each other soon." Ms. Simone smiled from the doorway. "Same time next visit, Myles." Myles grinned, feeling warm inside. He knew love could travel far, all the way to his heart.
